I have been to the location in downtown Rochester, and loved the atmosphere and the services were good. Since the move to a strip mall, it just doesn't feel like a "getaway" or relaxing atmosphere. I didn't care for the long narrow space I had to walk through to get to the back where massage is done. I felt like I was in a back store room, and I could hear other people talking and conversations going on over the relaxing music. The massage therapist was very good, not very warm or inviting, but knew her stuff, and was very professional. You can tell they tried hard to decorate and make it into a special atmosphere, but I just wasn't feeling it.

I made an appointment more that a month in advance only to be very disappointed that the staff was not prepared to perform the services as expected. The services I scheduled included hair cut, color, style, makeup, manicure and pedicure. I was getting ready for a special day. The hair color was a horrible match. My bangs were cut very crooked. The style was a quick messy blow dry. Not even styling you would expect from a professional blow dry. The technician that did my pedicure informed me in the middle of the service that she didn't have time to finish and had another appointment. At his point the make-up and manicure still need to be done. I had to wait because the cosmologist that I had booked my appointment with had stared with another client. After standing around for some time, another cosmologist filled in for the person I was originally scheduled with and she did half of my make up. She did not do my eyebrows, blush nor lip color! She smudged the mascara repeatedly my eyes. The foundation was caked in different areas. Another person did my manicure. Total section of my nails near my cuticles were missed and in other areas my cuticles were painted. I politely tipped everybody & left very disappointed.

This was the WORST mani/pedi I have ever had. It was a groupon that brought me to this place, but I will never go back. There are so many things that were awful about my experience. The worst being the way that the nails were painted. My 5 year old daughter can do a better job!! The tech over painted my nails and then proceeded to try to 'clean' it up with a brush, I have had many mani/pedi's and I have never had someone paint this way. When I questioned her, she said that is just how she does it. Do not waste your time or money!

My husband and I were going through a stressful time. I called to ask about packages for a relaxation weekend. We stayed at the Royal Park Hotel which is a treat also. We had Couple's Massages in the couples suite, jacuzzi, and facials side by side. Sophia is a wondeful and very relaxing person. I felt in complete extasy and fell asleep a couple times. My skin felt superior for days. My husband said it was the best place. Owner Gina really knows about customer service.

I chose La Dolce Vida as the spot to propose to my girlfriend. It was a surprise visit as I didn't live in MI at the time. The staff executed flawlessly what I had asked them to do from every angle. (decorations, timing, and service) They even went above and beyond what I had asked. I highly recommend this place.

My husband and I arived to Michigan for the Holidays with the family. Sometimes holiday travels and family themselves can take a toll on ones stress levels and over all physicaland mental being. Thank God for the Spa A Dolce Vita, they not only grounded me mentally, after a few body treatments I felt refreashed and new again. A trip to this Spa will always be on my calendar whenever I am in the area. Thank You Again!

I have been to this spa at least a dozen times. Massages with others were good, not fabulous. Massages with Kay are the best I have ever had. She is amazing!!! However, when you schedule a service you have to be SUPER specific about the service and person performing it. I have had problems several times (wrong person, wrong service scheduled), and the receptionists are never very friendly. The owner is very willing to correct mistakes, but it can make them seem unprofessional. It is worth a try, though. The old house is beautiful and Kay makes it all worth it.

The best facial I've ever had.
The staff was great, and offered the current specials they had when I made my appointment.
On the day of my facial, it was pampering from beginning to end. I had the European Facial and it was a full 90 minutes. I will go back for sure, it was just perfect and exactly what I needed!!

IT WAS MY FIRST TIME TO LA DOLCE VITA. I FOUND THE ATMOSPHERE WARM AND RELAXING. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ANTONETA FOR THE WONDERFUL JOB SHE DID ON MY HAIR. SHE BROUGHT IT BACK TO LIFE. SHE DEFINITLY IS A PROFESSIONAL AND I WILL GO BACK TO HER AGAIN. THE ONLY THING THAT I DIDNT LIKE WAS I DIDNT EVEN SEE A BILL AND I THOUGHT IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN. THE RECEPTIONIST WAS TO BUSY ON THE PHONE SO I JUST PAYED AND LEFT. NEXT TIME I WILL ASK FOR A BILL OF THE CHARGES.

I am an avid spa goer. I enjoy trying different spas, and found La Dolce Vita on Spa Finder.com. I read a few good reviews and decided I wanted to check it out. It is not too far from home so I was hoping I really liked it. However, I will never step foot in that place again, nor will I recommend it to anyone! I don't even know where to begin. The tackiness begins from the minute you walk in the door. The entrance way has mismatched rugs and a makeshift coffee area and water station. The reception area is not much better. The receptionists are neither friendly nor organized, and semed to be more concerened with talking to the group of employess hanging around their station, than dealing with customers. The technician that gave me a pedicure and manicure was dressed in JEANS! and did not have the kind of personality to deal with people. I don't think she smiled once while I was in her chair. The pedicure room was even tackier than the entranace way. The counter top had some kind of tablecloth or bed sheet covering it, and had stuff all over it, and each product they used is in plastic solo cups placed in a ziploc baggie! I have never seen THAT before. That tells me they don't want us to know what kind of product they are using. Plastic solo cups; are they serious? They charge a ridiculous price for a pedicure and then deliver it in that fashion!?! TACKY! The manicure stations weren't any better, and the bathroom was gross. As a matter of fact, the entire first floor seemed filthy. Whoever owns this palce doesn't take much pride in it and doesn't seem to know how to run a business very well. It is a shame because it could be a very nice place - it is a old victorian home with lots of potential. I can't see how they will stay in business much longer. After my visit (of course), I have heard similar complaints from friends and neighbors. I wish I would have known before I spent the money in what I would basically call a dump.

We booked this place as our usual place went out of business. We used a spafinder.com gift certificate. The business is inside an old victorian home that has been remodeled and made into a hair salon/spa. It is just beautiful. They have several rooms set up for couple massages. It was so nice for my husband and I to go and get our massages in the same room. All the rooms have charming details and the staff was very friendly. I would definately return to this spa. I highly agree with the other person that had reviewed it...if I could give it 10 stars I would, it was just wonderful!
