• About Hot House Yoga

  Hot House Yoga studios are family owned and operated and have been opened since 2005, helping introduce Hot Yoga and Hot Vinyasa to Hampton Roads. Our extensive schedule makes finding time to practice easy for everyone, beginners and advanced students alike. The studios have been designed with convenience and comfort in mind. As soon as you walk through the doors you realize how easy it is to be a member at Hot House. The facility offers “swipe card “ check in, private showers, towel service, storage, and changing areas for your convenience. The retail area is there to supply you with all your yoga apparel and accessories. Sky ceilings and cork floors help set the mood, allowing one to escape from the stresses of everyday life. Hot House is committed to making your yoga experience unforgettable.The teachers and staff share in the same philosophy that the Yax family grew up with, providing an open and hospitable environment for students to feel comfortable and welcome. Of the seven children in the family, five teach at Hot House, and it was buy no chance that they were introduced to Yoga. Their parents met at the Phildelphia Academy of Arts, and in 1972 moved the family to Virginia Beach. Their mother and father had interests in the Association for Research and Enlightenment, A Course in Miracles, meditation, gardening, healthy living, and painting. Their friends were local artists, musicians, teachers, gardeners, vegetarians, and free thinkers … pioneers of holistic living. The family sheltered friends that needed a place to stay even though the house was already full. Their father introduced them to the power of prayer, intention, meditation, healthy eating, and their mother to the power of loving your family. “Our family has always been teaching… teaching us how to take care of each other.” It was a natural step that teaching yoga became a means for the Yax family to continue to have a place that they offer others to come and feel welcome.
