A tranquil sanctuary where nature’s inspiration takes center stage, the Spa at the MODERN Honolulu has earthy hues and four treatment rooms, including a couple’s suite, styled with lovely stone sinks and custom-designed wooden chairs and tables. There are also two manicure and two pedicure stations in the 2,400-square-foot spa.

Spa treatments are customized to meet guests’ needs and use an extensive range of natural products. Offerings include signature and customized facials and an array of massage modalities, including reflexology, lomilomi and aromatherapy; spa-goers can also indulge in the MODERN Signature Massage, a head-to-toe treatment that utilizes hot stones.

Exercise buffs can check out the fitness center, which encompasses high-tech cardio and strength training equipment.

The MODERN has two swimming pool areas – the sunrise and the adults-only sunset – embellished with chaise lounges, daybeds and picnic tables under the shade of native autograph groves, palm trees and lush foliage. Guests can also head to Waikiki Beach, five minutes away, where a myriad of water sports activities loom, including snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, sailing, parasailing and surfing. Day trips can be made to additional popular hotspots like the Ala Moana Shopping Mall or Diamond Head, as well as more historical and cultural sites like Pearl Harbor, Iolani Palace and Doris Duke Shangri-La Estate.
