    Since its founding in 1986, Nashville Ballet has grown to become the largest professional ballet company in Tennessee, presenting a varied repertoire of classical ballet and contemporary works by noted choreographers, including original works by Artistic Director & CEO Paul Vasterling.Nashville Ballet owns its own building, the Martin Center for Nashville Ballet, a customized 32,000 square foot facility that serves as a home for our professional dancers, school students and administrative offices. Though some performances are held at the Martin Center for Nashville Ballet, most performances are held at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center (TPAC) in downtown Nashville.The CompanyThe company is comprised of 22 professional dancers from around the world, who perform in the ballet’s performance season. The pre-professional second company, Nashville Ballet 2 (NB2) offers more than 30 young dancers the chance to hone their technique and artistry in preparation for a dance career with intensive training and performance opportunities.School of Nashville BalletThe School of Nashville Ballet offers ballet and dance training, as well as fitness classes for all ages and abilities.With world-class faculty following a carefully crafted curriculum, the Academy Division is an exciting and challenging training ground for tomorrow's dancers, choreographers, teachers and ballet lovers.The Community Division offers a variety of dance and dance-based fitness classes to teens and adults of all ages and abilities. In the CommunityOur Outreach & Community Engagement Program promotes dance as an essential and inspiring element of our community with wide-reaching and innovative educational dance programming for schools and community groups throughout Middle Tennessee. Nashville Ballet travels to schools, libraries, parks and community centers to introduce new audiences of all ages to the artistry, beauty and athleticism of dance.Music City ConnectionsNashville Ballet collaborates with The Nashville Symphony, ALIAS Chamber Ensemble, local singer-songwriters, The Frist Center for the Visual Arts and many other local artists and community organizations to produce original dance productions that showcase all of the talents of Music City. Nashville Ballet is proud to offer live musical accompaniment at all of its season productions at TPAC.Community SupportNashville Ballet is a non-profit organization that is funded in part from grants made available through the Metro Nashville Arts Commission, the Tennessee Arts Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts. Funding from the Ingram Charitable Fund supports the presentation of The Nashville Symphony for most performances. Additional funding is also provided by The Shubert Foundation, Bridgestone Americas Trust Fund, HCA Tri-Star, SunTrust, ELAN Hair / ELAN Skin, Caterpillar Financial, The Memorial Foundation and Publix Super Market Charities.
