Balancing Yin & Yang

This practice will employ long holding (3-7 minutes) Yin poses to enhance the structural integrity of the connective tissues throughout the body. The Yin sequences will allow us to explore specific energetic meridians, promote awareness of the anatomy and physiology and of the various forms of connective tissue throughout the body. At the climax of the practice, we will increase the tempo and explore dynamic yang sequences to increase circulation and further clear stagnation from the physical and energetic bodies.

Iyengar Inspired Vinyasa

Classically trained in both Iyengar and Vinyasa Tobie beautifully blends both of the yogic styles and traditions together for a refreshing practice with concentration on the form and flow of your breath and body. This class is an education in the proper alignment and anatomy of yoga posture. When proper alignment is created in yoga asana, freedom to explore the breath and the body ignite. Students will be guided through challenging sequences creating a fluidity in the practice while exploring form and breath. All levels of students are welcome and modifications will be given to ensure that everyone is able to participate.

Foundations

Our Foundations class is a welcoming place to learn the basics or brush up on fundamentals. Based on the classic and ancient practices of yoga, you’ll learn the details of alignment and how to use your breath in the poses. You will also learn general guidelines to keep you safe and confident as you progress. These classes move at a slower pace, with plenty of opportunity for questions and individual attention. No specific fitness level is required as you'll be encouraged to work within your own abilities and limitations. Prenatal Yoga- Drop in

Yoga is a perfect complement to any woman's journey through pregnancy. These safe and gentle classes will highlight yoga postures, breathing exercises, and relaxation techniques that strengthen your body, alleviate discomforts, connect you to your growing baby, and prepare for your optimal birth. These classes are suitable for pregnant women new to yoga as well as experienced practitioners, and for women at all stages of pregnancy. Come join other women as we create a supportive community with Lillian and Audrey, both of whom are prenatal yoga instructors, birth doulas and coaches, as well as nurse-midwifery students at the Yale School of Nursing.
