About Rock Creek Sports Club
Rock Creek Sports Club is one of the few independently owned gyms in the area, and prides itself on its community-oriented and welcoming vibe. Named the Best Neighborhood Gym in 2012 by Bethesda Magazine, Rock Creek Sports Club is definitely not your typical “big-box” gym.
From the minute you walk into our 14,500 square-foot multi-level facility, you’ll be greeted by fresh flowers, our friendly staff, and a sunny, clean workout environment. Members of all ages, and fitness abilities describe Rock Creek Sport’s Club both comfortable and energetic.
Rock Creek Sports Club has everything you need to get fit. On two floors of workout space, members have the choice of all the traditional gym offerings of treadmills, benches, racks, and state of the art weight training equipment — along with many of the latest and greatest in the industry, such as kettle bells, TRX and battling ropes.
In addition, Rock Creek Sports Club offers more than 20 different group classes to chose from, including Zumba, Yoga, Spinning, Bootcamp and Boxing — so you’ll never find yourself bored with your workout routine.

- Zumba :
- Cardio workout using world music and draw from various dance styles such as meringue, salsa, bellydancing and more.
- Cardio Dance :
- This class combines your favorite cardio hi/lo moves along with hip hop and African dance, designed to help you reach your maximum cardio potential.
- Les Mills BodyPump :
The original barbell, weight training class, where you will learn postural and core training that shapes, tones and defines.
- Hatha Yoga :
The focus is on the physical postures, breath and mind. A blend of sustaining and repeating poses (Iyengar) with poses that flow in sequence from one to another, following the breath (vinyasa).
- Body Tone :
A blend of Ballet Tone, stretching, gentle strength training and core work.
- 45/15 and 15/45 :
A complete workout – Cardio/Strength (45 cardio/15 strength or vice versa).
- Bootcamp Conditioning :
A high-energy and intense class of cardio bursts, agility drills and strength training designed to keep the heart rate up and challenge the whole body.
- Wake Up Wednesdays :
Class involves sun salutes and other simple flow practices with modifications available; requires a bit more strength/stamina. May include challenging backbends or hip opening poses. Can be adapted for beginners.
- Fearless Fridays Yoga :
- Class works with considerable strenght, stamina and balance. Best for students who have some exposure to the practice of yoga and are not injured. Although rank beginners do drop in, it is not encouraged.
- Circuit Training :
A strength training class designed to keep the heart rate up by moving fluidly from one strength training exercise to the next.
- Mellow Mondays :
A gentle practice with deep stretches, emphasis on breath and finding ease through effort in the practice. Suitable for someone who has never stepped onto a yoga mat.
- Pilates :
Strengthen and stretch the abdomen and torso by solely using the strength of the body. Techniques involve proper breathing and control over various muscles.
- Fit for Life :
- Designed to meet the needs of exercisers 55 years and over (although anyone is welcome), these classes minimize impact, promote muscle strength and bone density, and improve flexibility and balance.
- Presidential Arms :
Inspired by the fit and tone President and First Lady, this class will focus on strengthening and defining the shoulders and arms.
- Cadio Kickboxing :
A high-intensity kickboxing workout to raise the heart rate and work the legs and upper body.
- Stretch for Life :
Designed to complement the Fit for Life program. Focuses on increasing flexibility through stretching after a 20-minute cardio warm up.
- Chisel 'n Core :
- Sculpt and mold the major muscle groups in this strength-training class using a variety of equipment (such as benches, dumbbells, stability balls, tubing and body bars). Includes a warm up to prepare the body for strength work.
- ABSolution :
An “express” workout for the core targeting the abdominals and back, followed by light stretching. Members are encouraged to drop in for this 15-minute or 30-minute guided workout to improve trunk strength.
- Les Mills Body Step :
This is a cardio workout that raises your overall fitness level and increases heart adn lung capacity. Simple moves and consistant class structure enable you to catch on quickly and improve coordination.
- Open Flow Yoga :
Experience the benefits of yoga as students flow from one pose into the next, using mindful breathing and proper alignment techniques.
Boxing
- Boxing Clinic :
Learn boxing techniques with Golden Glove winner Russell Davis. Coach Russell keeps everyone moving while working one-on-one with each participant.
