About Waldorf Astoria Berlin

Located in the western part of the city, within walking distance of Kurfuerstendamm, the Berlin Zoo, and Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, is the Waldorf Astoria brand’s first hotel in Germany. The sophisticated design, derived from Portoro marble and thoughtful details like the famous grandfather clock, is reminiscent of Waldorf Astoria’s trademark art deco esthetic while accurately depicting Berlin’s fusion of culture and cosmopolitan. The 232-room hotel houses the first Guerlain Spa in Germany, where guests can partake in customized, efficacious beauty and wellbeing treatments exclusive to the Guerlain brand. At Les Solistes by Pierre Gagnaire restaurant, simple, artful French dishes by the Michelin-starred chef, along with a 450-bottle collection of French and German wines create the perfect blend for a casual fine dining experience.

Customer Reviews for Waldorf Astoria Berlin (1)

August 12, 2013
I miss it already
My husband and I stayed at the Waldorf Astoria for two nights as a "babymoon". Martina gave me a wonderfully relaxing prenatal massage, as well as a pedicure (a surprise gift from my sister). My husband got the "Express Tailor Made" massage for his back and neck and also enjoyed it. The pool area is relaxing (when there aren't too many hotel guests/their children there). Water is on offer (plain, lime, elder flower, etc.) The staff is polite, kind, and approachable. The atmosphere is calm and warm (something I do not often find at spas/saunas in Germany), and the robes are decadent. There is one sauna--I did not notice if there is a steam room. The hot tub looks amazing and relaxing (but I couldn't go in due to my pregnancy). The pool has two jets you can turn on to swim against, which is pretty cool, but one wasn't fully functioning; therefore, the stream wasn't strong enough to make it worth one's while. OTHER: The fitness room has at least 4 treadmills, free weights, and one or two weight machines. I saw a sign for personal yoga instruction (for a fee) but no information on a class. I could have stayed and read and napped and swam all day...

Facilities & Amenities

Germany’s capital city of Berlin is a vibrant one, and Waldorf Astoria guests are at the center of it all. The luxury property neighbors both Kurfustendamm boulevard — lined with designer shops, hotels and restaurants — and the Berlin Zoo, which attracts three million visitors annually. Adjacent to the Berlin Zoo, the Berlin Zoologischer Garten railway station provides plenty of transportation modes and is an interchange with the U-Bahn and S-Bahn rapid transit, making it easy for guests to hop on the train and head to some of Berlin’s most famous landmarks like Siegessäule (Victory Column); Schloss Bellevue, the German president’s residence; and Postdamer Platz public square, less than one mile south of the iconic Brandenburg Gate. Must-see destinations also include Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church and the famous Theater des Westens, a stone’s throw from the hotel’s entrance.
