Dazzling in a modern Mexican-inspired design esthetic, Sabila Spa is a 39,000-square-foot spa and wellness center located steps from the resort, overlooking picturesque mountain and ocean vistas. Sabila, translated as aloe vera in Spanish, provides a full menu of rejuvenating therapies like the signature Sabila Delight: The full-body ritual treats guests to a 25-minute exfoliation, followed by a 50-minute massage combining Swedish, relaxation, aromatherapy, lomilomi, and energy techniques. Guests can also reserve massage, body, and skincare services such as the Tropical Sea of Cortez Mud Wrap, Calming Cucumber Mini Facial, and Exotic Aromatherapy Senses Massage.

To balance its therapeutic spa menu, Sabila aims to renew spa-goers with its “healing through water” philosophy; extensive hydrotherapy areas provide guests access to hot and warm Jacuzzis, enzyme tubs, a cold plunge, eucalyptus-infused steam room, and sauna. With calm beaches, a celebrated heritage, and distinct backdrop combining desert, mountains, and sea, the Islands of Loreto are the perfect setting for a romantic rendezvous or a fun family getaway. Daily shuttles transfer resort guests into town to explore landmarks, including Nuestra Senora de Loreto; further abroad in the Sierra de la Giganta mountain range are canyons and rock shelters filled with cave paintings, some of them UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Once described by Jacques Cousteau as the “world’s aquarium,” the Islands of Loreto comprise more than 155 miles of coastline, and the Villa del Palmar’s on-site operator is available to arrange water sport lessons or excursions such as paddle boarding, fishing, scuba diving, kayaking, and snorkeling on the resort’s private beach; on-land activities like mountain biking, hiking and golf can also be planned. Island hopping is a popular pastime, as are catamaran and sunset cruises or whale watching expeditions (available seasonally).

The casual menu at alfresco Casa Mia includes sandwiches, salads, tacos, brick-oven pizzas, and burgers.
