I recommend this spa! Very good spa!
I am not Chinese, but I live in this part of Markham where most establishments are residents are Chinese. This is actually my first time going to a spa, and I am just looking for a relaxing getaway. Before I talk about the spa day, I would just like to say something about my experience before my appointment. At first, I know I had to call them and inquire about the treatments I would like, and one thing I can say that they can improve more, is their availability on the phone. I had called twice, but it just goes straight to voicemail. I had to call about 2 hours later, and finally, the receptionist picked up the phone. She was able to answer my questions and I was able to set up an appointment for the weekend after that, so, so far, I was satisfied. Not too happy about the phone availability though. The treatments I requested were the Seaweed Detox Body Wrap and an Hour Body Massage. Both treatments were pretty satisfying. The place is very cozy. It is a small spa. They got pretty much everything that you would need. The staff are friendly and always making sure you are having a comfortable experience. One thing though that kinda bothered me is the language barrier. During the treatment, the massage therapist was trying to explain stuff to me about the treatment, but it was really, really difficult to understand what she was saying. I do not want to ruin the appointment by continuously saying "Excuse me, I didn't understand what you said", etc. But it does make me happy somehow that she was really trying to get her message understood, and for me, that's good enough. Their prices are OK, actually, a little less than what other spa's would offer. I was actually specific that I wanted a Seaweed Detox Body Wrap. I looked online for spa's that offer this service around my area, and there's only 2 of them. The other one is Caesar Spa at Woodbine and Steeles. Their Seaweed Detox Body Wrap is $10 more expensive than LaVi's and also, they do not have a package for this treatment, that's why I chose LaVi spa. Over-all, I had a wonderful experience. 2 things they can improve on are: Phone availability, and language barrier. I just hope that they have staff that can speak good English. But I still understand because it is a Chinese community. My therapist was very good. I've had a wonderful time!
