I had a gift certificate for a mani/pedi & the works and I must say that was the first mani/pedi I had without water. Everything was done while laying on a massage table. I was also supposed to receive a foot, hand, shoulder & scalp massage as well but you can't really count the two minutes each spent on the hand & foot massages (very disappointing). The mani/pedi started off ok, but the salt scrub used on both was not thoroughly wiped off which left me feeling gritty. My nails were not clipped just filed & my hand cuticles were not even touched. I actually left there feeling like I need to go to another nail salon to get my mani/pedi.

II have 2 main complaints about this place, which I spent 2 hours driving to each way. The first is that I got only a 40 minute massage when I paid for an hour massage. When I finished the massage I figured it must have been a 45 minute massage, so when I went to pay, they tried to convince me that the masseuse actually gave me an extra 5 minutes, even though I waited a half hour for her to come get me, checked the time on 2 different clocks both on the way in and on the way out, then the manager tried to tell me that it was because the clocks are turned off at night and that all of the clocks are wrong so that must be my mistake. She gave me a free $7 drink on the house.... The buffet was ridiculous. First off it wasn't even a buffet, you ordered off of a menu so I ordered the pancake, and yes there was only 1 pancake and about 8 berries with about an ounce of mango syrup and tea, for $20! Complete rip-off. The worst part though is that they tried to lie to me at the end and make me feel stupid about telling time. I will NEVER go there again and do not encourage anyone to go there.

Invited by a friend for the girlfriends weekend brunch special I discovered this place to be a lovely Brooklyn oasis.I live in New York City and thus have travelled far and wide within the boroughs to spas in Manhattan, The Bronx, and Queens. This easy to find location with an unassuming exterior was an impressive surprise. The outside does little to inform you of the large, yet cozy feeling of the interior. A well maintained space there is always staff available for replenishing and supporting your needs.This spa has a cozy, friendly atmoshere where I have spent many a day circulating from the steam room to the saunas to the plunge poolto the jacuzzi. After which relaxing over a cool drink in the lounge area while sitting by the fireplace proves refreshing. I have also melted in the hands of their fabulous masseurs without ever having to hear promotion of their spa products. In fact I had them use my own products.I have throughly enjoyed my visits to Body by Brooklyn. It has become my spa home away from home. I encourage you to try it out for yourself. You will not be dissapointed,

The website pics look a lot nicer than the actual place - it is small and dark. The steamroom is hardly steamy. And the admin staff is terrible. We waited for our treatments and were told there was a 15 min. delay - then it would be 30 min. Then, mine started but my daughter had to wait a bit more.... and more... After waiting 70 min., we left. Each "apologetic" staffer had a different explanation. A customer in the locker room had her service delayed for 60 minutes and got an even different story.On the bright side, it was clean, the russian spa was very, very hot and the plautza treatment was interesting. But I would never go back there.

I was taken to this spa with a group of friends for a surprise b-day celebration. From outside I wasn't sure what to expect but once I stepped inside I was blown away.It has a modern feel to it, was very comfortable and most importantly was spotless! I had a great massage and enjoyed a nice lunch and a cocktail (yes they have a bar) but the best part was the area they call the wet lounge.It's a large space where you can use steam/saunas and jacuzzi and just relax. I've never been to a spa in NYC that didn't push you out the door once your service is over. Understandable as most spas in the city have space constraints but this place was pretty large so I guess it doesn't present a problem for them.It was able to spend the whole afternoon with friends just enjoying the day. A perfect b-day!I'm a bit of a spa snob but I have to say I loved this place. What made it stand out for me was the staff. There was one guy there with long-ish hair who seemed to be in charge. He really went above and beyond to make sure we had a great time. The extra effort made me feel very special.I would highly recommend this spa.
