Shear Dynamics Salon & Spa Above the Plaza

Was a little worried from old past reviews, but Shear Dynamics Salon & Spa Above the Plaza has an upscale peaceful atmosphere and their staff was friendly to deal with at check-in and check-out. I felt that my massage therapist listened to what was wrong and tailored my massage to relieve stress and minor aches and pains. Excellent massage and I'll go back.

I just went to Shear Dynamics which should have a sign on the door that says, "Enter at your own risk." I was in the salon getting nails and hair done for my friend's wedding. The staff could not have been more rude. When I was getting a manicure, she kept rubbing my hand so hard that it hurt. When I asked her to stop, she sneared at me and kept doing the same thing. We unfortunately had to go back the next day to get our hair done. Not only did one woman snap at the mother of the bride, but the entire staff could not be more unwelcoming. It's like they were mad that we were in there giving them business. Oh...and I had to re-do my hair because it looked like a Raggedy Ann Doll. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

I've been twice - never again. The 1st time was for a prenatal massage. The woman talked the whole time about how she had a miscarriage at around the time I was in my pregnancy. Also, I had previously gotten a prenatal massage elsewhere and was concerned with how she was doing it. I was on my back for longer than I probably should have been (other place used pillows to prop me on my side more) and she didn't help me up afterwards (something hard to do when prego). The 2nd time I went was for a pedicure with my friend who was visiting from out of town. Although the ladies were nice, there is no way that the pedicures were worth $50 each. I've been to places where they did way more, took more time doing them, and they looked nicer for $20 cheaper. On top of that, my friend's polish was messed up by the next day (their fault). Since she lives out of town she couldn't return. I went back, showed the mgr/owner a pic of her nails and was brushed off with a comment that my friend would just need to remove the polish and paint again. She credited my card with $10 to cover the polish, but that's it. Oh, and the price on their website was $45 yet they charged us $50 each... b/c "prices changed" which we weren't told about beforehand.

I recieved the spa finder as a gift. WOW what a gift. These people were so nice. And they did great work! My husband and I went back for Valentines Day, the couples room was great.
