Extremely disappointed
I will start off this review by naming the one shining start of this establishment. Gil, a massage therapist, is 100% worth the money you will spend when visiting La Look. He has an obvious passion for his profession and it shows in every massage. That being said, I have to admit that the rest of the spa isn't up to any standard. I've been going to Martha's for many years- been with them through 3 locations. I find this establishment to be unprofessional with the exception of Gil. When scheduling a facial, I usually schedule with a specific technician. Nine times out of ten, I am schlepped off to a lesser trained person after arriving at the spa. To make matters worse, the door to my facial room is always opening and closing while people are talking to one another. Going to the spa is supposed to give complete relaxation- how does opening/closing of doors promote this? When you bring these problems up to the owner, she gets defensive and rude; totally making you feel beneath her. They also never replaced their nail technician, manicures and pedicures are a main highlight to any spa experience.

Will certainly be back
The 1st time I went was a year ago as a birthday present from my mom and sister. This was the best birthday present! I've been back a few times since then. I've never had a bad experience. I went back just today for a Swedish Relaxation massage with Korey. I love the new location. It's clean, relaxing and everyone there is so nice. I can't wait to go back! I would recommend this spa to everyone.

They were very comforting
I went for waxing service and was very nervous. The procedure was as expected but the technician was very comforting. I was a rare case and they took very well care of me. It was a very emotional experience and I truly thank the staff for making my experience there great. I will definitely be back.

I was unimpressed
I used a coupon for an ultraderm procedure (microderm using a new technology machine). The actual procedure was painless and the tech seemed competent but there was no personal interaction and I was moved quickly in and out of the salon. I have had many facials and microderms and I was expecting some comments regarding my skin condition or reccommended skin products. I was running low on most of my skin care products and had intended to replenish my stock but no one took time to interact with me (because I used a promotional coupon?) I did not see other parts of the salon and no one offered to give me a tour. If they are looking for new clients it would behoove them to try a more personal approach. I will not be returning.

Been to many in the Midwest. Have needed massage since 1976. Found the variety, expertise, and cooperation I was searching hard for at LaLook. Other services are varied and knowledge is first rate.

Great,friendly and comfortable Spa
I have been going to this spa since it opened..and although Martha's business has expanded over the years she has maintained the same friendly, comfortable atmosphere that I travel from Mi to OH at least once a year to experience. The manicures at La Look are the BEST!!!!

Love it!
I have been a customer of LaLook Spa for several years and I have always had a wonderful experience. I can't say enough good things about the entire staff. They constantly strive to add new services and products. I am currently sporting shallac nails that last for two weeks, don't chip, stay shiny and look wonderful.

My girlfriend had made plans in February for us to get a couples massage with mine being a stone massage. The spa made a mistake and gave both of us just a regular "relaxation" massage instead of one stone and one relaxation. This being our first time to a spa we were unaware of how thing worked, but being a professional business that La Look is, we had no worries. Afterwards we asked why the stone massage wasn't given and all we got was an attitude with a stuck up woman about why we didn't say something. La Look was VERY unprofessional handling their mistake and caused quite the opposite of a relaxing experience. I would NEVER recommend this spa just because of their poor service and lack of professionalism.

This review provides a great lesson for all spa-goers... We always encourage our clients to express their needs to their technician/therapist before, or during the time of service to ensure the best spa experience possible. This is why clients fill out a massage questionnaire upon their arrival which states for them to speak freely about their desires. Besides the fact that this young couple had our most senior licensed massage therapists, (with over 40 years experience between them), sometimes clients cannot be satisfied. After the services were over, the client let the front desk know that he and his girl friend both enjoyed the massages, but he thought he was getting a Hot Stone Massage, their services were discounted. The client then said that this was not an acceptable resolution, we in turn refunded a portion of their gift card, which is a deviation from our normal policy.
