I went to this spa for the first time and enjoyed it. I had the pumpkin peel facial which made my face my smooth and soft. I will definitely go back and try another service.

Great Spa - Signature Experience is Amazing By SaraR | April 6, 2011: 5.00 out of 5 stars

This is a great, small spa on the Upper West Side. The staff is very friendly and attentive. I've had the Signature Experience twice, and both times I have been very impressed. The only downside to this spa is that each time I've visited, my therapist has pushed Sphatika's skincare products pretty hard. Great experience.

Sphatika Experience provides a relaxing respite in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world. However, if you have not experienced an urban day spa, it may seem not as relaxing as one based at a resort. There was still just a little too much of the outside world inside the spa. Perhaps it was due to a little too much sunlight blaring into what was supposed to be the relaxation room. My big disappointment occurred when they called to tell me that the service I had signed up for was not available. They recommended something comparable, but I did not think it was close enough to the experience I had hoped for. They also promised a 20 percent discount on my next treatment. This would be a nice gesture if I lived in NYC, but I was travelling, so it will be a while. Can't wait to take them up on the discount.

I had a great experience here courtesy of Spafinder Deal Days. My facial was amazing and I even bought one of their products. The only thing is that after the sauna I wish there was a shower to rinse off because the sauna purges toxins out of your body and it would be great to wash it off instead of going straight into my facial all sweaty and stuff. Other than that i would definately reccommend this

Janet and her staff have created a nurturing oasis for busy professionals. My favorite treatment is the Jade Stone Experience. For 3 hours, I luxuriate in the warmth of the precious jade stones melting away knots and tension in my muscles. My senses are indulged in an extraordinary experience that takes the mind away from the noise of the world. I always feel rejuvenated and recharged afterwards. In addition, everyday I rely on the very refreshing citrus cleansing foam, citrus toner, and treatment serum to keep my face clean and clear. Sphatika’s line of products is the only one that does not cause breakouts on my sensitive skin.

I had several treatments at this Spa over the past few years and feel it stands out as an oasis of peace. The space is impeccably clean and gorgeously designed and provides an airy and tranquil setting that has more soul than most spas in NYC. The emphasis is on a holistic approach based on natural products and the cleansing of body and mind. So if you need a break from the stress of life and are open to a new experience, this is the place for you. Try the night cream, it is THE best night skin care I have ever used, and I've used high end products such as Clarins or La Prairie. This one beats them by far at a reasonable price.

I am in the travel business and frequent many spas but Sphatiki was beyond. Those amazing personal saunas where you begin your experience was so healing and a wonderful way to clear out my mind and then off to the massage. In NY you don't find many spas that have all that quiet space - That was another treat!!! All around special experience - highly recommend

I often read reviews, but rarely take the time to write reviews. Well, I've been to Sphatika three times so far and it's so amazing that I felt it a must to share this with others in hopes they treat themselves to the Sphatika "experience." First off, the place itself is so beautiful. The royal treatment begins the moment you walk in and it's three hours of such luxury and peace that I feel a changed person when I walk out. I've been to many spas in my time and I place this one at the top of my list!

I got the Sphatika experience as a gift. I was very skeptical, but loved it and have been back on my own since. It's relaxing, calming and purifying. They didn't just get out my knots, I felt physically and mentally better. It was a great escape from the crazy, fast paced life of the Manhattanite and view it as secret sanctuary. Highly recommend the products too. I have very sensitive skin and love the Vitamin A night cream. I use it in the morning and at night!

I received a travelkit with Sphatika products at the Venice Filmfestival this August. The very handy kits ( you can take them on a plane) have 6 products. And I gotta say that these products are amazing! They are all natural, chemical free and have a wonderful scent. I was also told that crystals are steeped in the water that go in the products. Especially the Vitamin A night creme and the Gommage are great. I use them both daily now, and my skin has never looked better. I recommend them to everyone. I can't wait to get a treatment at the Spa!!!

The space is absolutely gorgeous, but it was quite hot and humid as soon as I walked through the door. I did enjoy the beginning of the experience, the slippers are so comfortable! The woman who greets you at the beginning and the end did seem a bit pushy and did not really leave much time for relaxation with all of her talking, which defeats the whole purpose of the experience. My treatment was unique, but seemed that it was not really tailored to me and what I needed.The therapist was present and nice, but it seems as soon as you get used to one therapist they are no longer there. My treatments also take up quite a big part of my day, not leaving much time for anything else. The experience was a gift to me and I felt I needed to give it more then one try before determining it's value. Overall I am not sure I would spend the money and go back to this "spa." For a healing center it just doesn't seem to live up to it's potential.

I woulnd't classify this place as a Day Spa, but more of a holistic treatment center. I've been to many spas in this city and must say that I usually leave feeling that the therapist wasn't very "present" and that there was nothing special or unique about the service ( after I have already shelled our $150 or so, I usually learned this). At Sphatika, I felt a deep sense of peace and tranquility and my therapist was truly present. There were a range of modalities that wree used to get me to this deep level, infra red sauna, healing crystals placed all over my body, soft tibetan bowls that were "sung" that broke up negative patterns in my body. I loved how you could decompress in the tranquility room, which felt so angelic. I do wish I would have been invited to stay longer in the infra red sauna, but other than that, I have no complaints. Thank You for a very healing experience!

This spa is unlike any I have visited before. Being used to the typical "massage" or "facial" I was a little weary viewing their information online but decided to take a chance and try something new,The experiences here are much different (and better) than anything I have had before. My therapist Mary was great- more nurturing than my own mom! I spent 2 hours there and didn't want to leave. I felt relaxed, refreshed....need I say more?
