My husband were in Ft. Lauderdale for my High School reunion. We loved the Atlantic and treated ourselves to spa services the morning that we checked out. We LOVED our massages and the spa facilities...it was beautiful, relaxing and very upscale. We will be back...and we will definitely enjoy more spa services.

Poor experience in the salon

I had a large spafinder gift card and used it at the salon to get my hair straightened. I've had my hair permanently straightened for a number of years without incident until I had it done here. While the stylist was attentive, my hair came out totally fried. My silky hair is gone, it it's place is dry, kinky, burned hair. What a total disappointment. While the salon offered me a complimentary deep conditioning treatment, I'm hesitant to go back even for that. Why drive for 45 minutes for something I can do at home. I had wanted to make this the place to get my straightening done on a regular basis because their price is reasonable but I could in no way feel comfortable going back. So sad.

Hi Mary, I am very sorry to hear about your results with the hair straightening treatment in the salon. I know that we spoken about your experience, but I wanted to let you know that I greatly appreciate your feedback. As this is the only way for us to better service the guest. We look forward to seeing you again in the spa. Please reach out to me directly if you should need anything in the future. Nichol Ohren Spa Director

Average Spa, poor customer service

I visited the spa and used the Spa Finder Certificate. The front desk attendant was very rude about the certifcate stating she had to charge us the full amount then refund the amount that was left after the certificate. When I finally did check out she did not provide a receipt, did not have me sign anything, and stated there was nothing left for me to do. My boyfriend had purchased something in the store earlier that day and without consent the attendant kept the card on file and charged it the following day. I found the spa and the facilty to be very nice and relaxing, the attendants were very nice. Overall it was a good experience besides the attendants and the misunderstanding with the credit card. In the future I would, however, be wary about giving any sort of credit card here.

Dear Charity, I am very sorry to hear about your poor cusotmer service here at the Spa Atlatnic. This is definitely unacceptable. I have recently taken over the spa in December and my main focus is on customer service. I hope that we can invite you back so you can get the experience that you deserve and should have received in the first place. I hope you had a wonderful holiday season and New Year! I stayed at this spa for 3 days and at first was impressed with the hotel and suite. Unfortunately the spa itself was not as impressive. The first day there I had a mud wrap followed by a massage. This was ok but nothing to write home about. On the second day I had a mani, pedi, facial and another massage. The mani-pedi were good but the facial was mediocre, the towels used smelled moldy. The massage on the second day was awful. I had requested a female therapist but was surprised to discover a male therapist greet me. However, I didn't have too much of a problem with this. This therapist (Isaac I think his name was) was awful. He was very noisy and chatty. I felt uncomfortable in his presence as he seemed to be more interested in letting me know how strong he was than actually giving me a massage. He wheeled around me on a stool instead of standing. I guess he had no idea how to do an archer pose. The room was very bright and cold. I was so upset I decided not to even use the spa the following day although I still had a $200 credit. I would suggest the spa at least follow up and ask how things were. Very disappointed!

I recently visited the Spa at the Atlantic Resort in Fort Lauderdale. It was a very nice boutique spa in the resort. The treatment room, lounge and gym were nice. The amenities could have been better, like hair dryer, comb, etc... but overall offered a great experience. It is really nice that the pool, outdoor terrace with bar/cafe is on the same floor and you can spend the entire day there even if you are not staying at the resort. I thought the front desk staff could have been more welcoming and friendly. The lady that did my facial was super. I will be back again, and bring a friend to enjoy the entire day!

Great packages in a relaxing environment

My daughter and I booked a great package and received a scrub and massage together in a beautifully appointed treatment room. Very relaxing and very private - you could not hear anyone else while being massaged. The facilities are small but quite nice, with a sauna, steamroom and whirlpool included. There is a relaxing lounge with tea and fruit. You can also use the hotel facilities like the fitness room and the pool. The negatives: not enough reclining chairs and the staff was adequate but not fantastic. The massage was pleasant but not incredible. The scrub was not hard enough. But we were both totally relaxed after spending 2 1/2 hours there.
