80 Min Lomi Lomi by Vanessa T.By ElieK | February 26, 2012
I live very close to this day spa and never used it till last year. Have been to Revive about 3 times now. All 3 times I've gotten the 80 minute lomi lomi by Vanessa T. She is the BEST!!! I'm always greeted by the ladies at the front desk, always offering beverages or anything else before my appointment. Vanessa always greets me as if we were good friends. Nice touch! Literally! Hard to find that perfect masseuse, I found her and will be coming back as many times as I can. Maybe in the near future will try their other services...mani, pedi, haircut, facial...hooked on the 80 min lomi lomi! Highly recommended.

Gave it a 2nd Chance ~ Awesome!By PenelopeQ | February 18, 2011
2nd Chance spa treatment was Tip Top! In an awesome attempt to win my business back, the facialist called me up personally to offer me a free facial in response to my unhappy first experience. She was professional, courteous, awesome and dignified. The facial was great! Atmosphere wonderful and I would definitely go again. Thank you Revive for redeeming yourself! Would recommend to anyone. Thank you for your professionalism. Penelope Q

Great facial - I fell asleepBy ChristinaB | January 16, 2011
I have now had 2 facials here. They have both been great. I actually prefer what they cal a mini-facial, which is 25 - 30 minutes, insterad of 50-55 minutes, but that's just a personal issue with laying still for too long. I really appreciate that the staff seem very responisve to curiosity about products being applied. They also seem to respect the fact that most of us would like to know what is being applied and why. They have also given me the choice of doing extractions (ouch!) or not. I think this is nice because no one told me to expect that the first time I ever had a facial. The only problem with their atmosphere is that their facial/massage rooms are along a wall that is adjacent to a parking lot, so there can be outside noise, and it can get very hot on warm days. Once, I had to ask to remove the blanket they usually use because I was burning up. Still - a nice treat on a cool day.

SpaFinder experienceBy PenelopeQ | January 7, 2011
Really looking forward to a special facial and some pampering from my busy life style. My appointment was at 1pm for a 1 hour facial. (I had to pick up kids from school who got out at 2:15) They took me in at 1:30. No special treatment, no special message. They did give me a glass of water that was lemon flavored after 25 minutes while I was waiting. The last 10 minutes of the facial she talked about product. I lay there wondering if she was finished or not since she wasn't doing anything during that time. Total time after I was dressed was 50 minutes, including the 10 minute product talk. When I mentioned during check out, the girl gave me a $10 credit for my $95 HOUR long facial. After all that, they probably will get to keep my $10 after all since I probably won't go back. Not client friendly if you ask me.

Couples Massage, not just for couplesBy AnnaF | September 26, 2010
Although my girlfriend and I aren't a couple, we wanted to pamper ourselves while she was in town so I took her to this spot in La Mesa. It was perfect! Really nice place, we got the best ever massages in the same room, then walked into the lounge and sipped on wine while we got our pedicures on the best ever massage chairs (it even had oxygen!). It was so much fun. Great way to catch up and get pampered at the same time.

Least favorite SpaBy CrystalH | June 14, 2010
I have to say this was the worst spa visit I have ever had and I've had a few. First- I booked my appointment online via Spa finder several days in advance. I even held the appt. with my credit card b/c my gift certificate didn't have a cert #. When I showed up for my appt. a few days later they told me that they never received my appt booking and the soonest they could "fit me in" would have been 2 hours later.... I live in Normal Heights and don't frequent La Mesa that often. The only reason I drove out of my way to this salon was that I received a gift certificate. Second- reason I would never go back.... We had the tiniest room and after laying down I realized that the window was open. During the whole massage my "relaxation" music and subsequent "happy place" were completely and totally ruined by music coming from a car radio parked outside this very window. Instead of listening to calming music and water falls, I found myself tensing up to the sound of Rap music.... Not what you want to hear while trying to relax during your massage (even if it was free). Third - This salon seemed more focused on their Sun tanning and mani/pedi's, not massage or skin care treatments. I felt bad for the girl who gave me my massage, she was good (cut my 50 minute massage a little short, not to thrilled about that either) but the place she worked at - not so much... I can honestly say I will never go back to visit this salon again, even if it's another freebie!

A few extra dollars goes a long wayBy ChristinaB | January 20, 2010
So far I have utilized the brow shaping and pedicure services. They are a little more pricey than I would have to pay elsewhere, but it's well worth it. They use the much more sanitary individual basins (versus foot baths with drains). The basic pedi includes the shiatsu massage chair I've ever used (and I've used quite a few), a sugar scrub of the lower legs, and refreshments (bottled water, fresh coffee and wine).
