Decorated in shades of earth tones with music adding to the spa's calming atmosphere, Transcend Spa is a 1,500-square-foot spa with five treatment rooms and a Bliss Room where couples can relax with each other before and after treatments. Services targeted to men, pregnant women, and teens are available with other offerings including a variety of massage modalities such as an earth rock massage, cellulite treatments, facials, microdermabrasion, thermal laser facial treatments, manicures, pedicures, eyelash extensions, teeth whitening, permanent makeup, spray tanning, and waxing. Nice little place tucked away in a small strip mall. Don't let the unassuming location fool you. Loved the quiet, low key, relaxing atmosphere. I've been to places that were more pricey and walked away disappointed, but not here. This was probably one of the best facials I've ever had. The massage was great too, only small note was that I asked for her to spend more time on a specific area, even if it meant less time somewhere else and that request was kind of ignored, or forgotten? But....I walked out feeling super mellow and relaxed anyway. Great prices too. I will be back for sure.

I had a massage by Jolynn and it was one of the best ones I've ever had. She worked on the (big) knots on my upper back, without rushing through the rest of the massage. The room was warm but not stuffy, relaxing music was playing and by the end of the massage, I was very, very relaxed. This is the second time I've been there; first time was for a facial. I learned a lot (can't remember who my technician was) and will go back for both, as soon as possible. I have to say, regarding some of the reviews, I've been to many salons and you do need to be specific with anyone at any salon. If you want deeper massages, you need to say something right then. Or ask them to work longer on a specific area, understanding, of course, that it takes time away from other areas. As for the cups they use, they are an organic spa and my guess would be that they are trying not to contribute to the excessive plastic waste with plastic cups. I'd rather have a paper cup, personally, for that very reason. I've recommended Transcend Spa to many friends and I don't do that a lot.

I had such a positive experience extering this classy, peaceful, tranquil spa. It was almost like entering another world. I had an appointment with Meghan for a facial and found her to be very friendly and knowledge and it was a positive experience in every way. She recommended my purchasing Blueberry Soy Night Recovery Cream by Eminence for my sensitive aging skin. I love how my skin looks & feels since purchasing. I highly recommend giving this Spa a try.

Suggestion from a massage therapist

One of the most valuable pieces of education a therapist wants is the comments from our clients is feedback. Many times we wonder how a treatment best suited our clients needs and that is always the primary goal of any professional. When a client is not happy with their service, we want to know! If you feel you would like to see a therapist or spa's services improve, fill out a comment card or mention it at reception. You can also show your appreciation or dissatisfaction in the way that you tip (most spa gratuities are 20% of the ORIGINAL service prices). As a therapist, I would rather have my client walk away thrilled with the services I have provided and not disgruntled in any way. I would like the opportunity to give only the best services I can and if I do not, I want to know about it. This might open the door to a free service or discount. I would also like to address a couple of the comments made on here about reflexology. Generally, giving reflexology to a woman who is pregnant is a big NO NO and most therapists will not even work on the feet of a woman who is in her first trimester. Most professional therapists understand the proper techniques for pregnant women and it is not the same massage you would receive before or after pregnancy. Reflexology is a very effective form of relaxation and treatment which is done by applying pressure on the points on the foot which are reflections of internal chart of the body. By applying a finger or thumb to specific points on the sole of the foot or hands, one can generate relaxation and stress relief bringing the body back into a state of homeostasis. Most spas do not offer this treatment so if you find a spa and therapist that does, you do not want to miss out on the opportunity! These spas might give you a reflexology treatment as an add on to a massage or facial so be sure to ask for it!! Some spas even offer it separately and it is a great way to have a luxurious treatment that will fit into your busy schedule!

Spa Week Massage and Facial

I called to book my spa week special with Transcend Spa. They said I could do both the massage and facial, I was so excited! When I walked into the spa I was welcomed with a warm smile for the lovely girl at the front desk. I had an amazing facial with Meghan. She answered all my questions I had about products and my skin. She also did a wonderful job on my eyebrows. Next I had my massage with Dee she had amazing hands! Her foot treatments felt so good, I have never had that before. This is such a peaceful and welcoming spa. I had such a great time on my spa day.

Big disappointment; I was greeted lukewarmly and did not feel as welcome, especially being a new client. Most spas will warmly greet you, offer you a robe and slippers, snacks, tea or water. I was given water in a dixie cup and helped myself to snacks and my own robe. No napkins or plates were available to use for my snacks either. Therapist did not accomodate my request for deeper pressure on my massage. She seemed very inexperienced. Foot scrub and massage very mediocre. I also had to wait when checking out because sadly, there was only one person who knew how to use the credit card machine. Sorry but I won't be returning.

Massages Are Great But The Mani's and Pedi's Are Not Good!

I recently went to the Transcend Spa with my husband for a massage for my husband as a birthday gift and I got a mani and pedi while I waited for him. My husband had a wonderful massage called the Tranquility Massage by Joylynn that was wonderful and he had no complaints what so ever. I on the other hand had a mani and a pedi while I waited for him to have his massage. I asked for the express mani and pedi thinking that I would be getting a good mani and pedi just without the massages and special oils like I get when I go just to a regular nail salon. Not so with Transcend Spa. I paid what I thought was alot for pretty much just my nails to get painted. For my hands they were put into a bowl of scented water, sprayed with some oil and then dried off, a file was ran over each nail very quickly and then a buffer very quickly. It was the same with my feet. Put into a big bowl of scented water, sprayed with oil and then dried off. A file was then ran over each nail, a buffer was ran over each nail very quickly and then a brush was scrubed over my nails and then dried off. No foot file, no cuticles pushed back, no hang nails cut off. When it came time for polish, they were painted so fast that the lady was putting on the gloss coat before the color polish was even dry and it was making the color run. I have all these streaks and bare spots on my nails. All the while I am sitting in a regular chair by a window in this little area that can only fit 2 people at a time and I had my feet up on this step that was conected to a chiar that the lady was polishing my feet on. I could not relax like that because every time I would relax my foot it would push her back on the chair, so I had to hold my feet up for her to paint them which was so uncomfortable. This room was not a place for mani 's and pedi's to be done. It was uncomfortable and awkward sitting there. I felt like I was just in a corner having some lady paint my nails. I paid the same price for what I could have gotten done at a nail salon and sat in a nice massage chair and had my feet really taken care of and my hands too and enjoyed it and been able to relax. When I was done, I was put into a room to wait for my husband which was a nice room, but I never saw the lady again for any kind of assistance. I had to check if they were dry and I had to have my husband take out the tissues from between my toes and put my shoes on for me. When they say express, they mean express! The place was real nice and clean. The atmosphere was pretty peaceful, but the girls at the front desk could have been a little more quieter for the people getting their massages I thought. This place spa should just stick to massages and do away with the nail services. I also noticed that they had special prices on there website for massages and when I got home I was charged the regular price. I didn't live near there since we were there on a weekend trip so I could not get that fixed. If you are going to Transcend Spa, just go there for massages only and you should have a wonderful time.

Waist of Money & horrible experience.

I surprised my mother with a facial and I was getting a prenatal massage. It was my first massage since being pregnant and im 7 1/2 months so I really needed one. I was very dissapointed. First they didn't have our appt's. I booked 3 weeks in advance. Icalled because I was running a little late to our appt's and was told we were not scheduled. Then I got cheated about 15 mins of my massage, and no reflexology that was included. The massage did not relax me or relieve in tension in my hips or shoulders. My mom's facial was horrible. They didnt even have her take her shirt off so she walked out with brown stuff on her shirt. The steamer was way too close to her skin and it was burning her. The esthetician was hurting her skin with the scrub because she was pressing too hard. Also the service included a brow wad, but my mom had just did her brows so the esthetician said she will "clean them up," she just left her with a big hole on her right brow. I will never be going back. Very horrible for being our first time to the spa.

Wonderful hidden gem!

Transcend Spa is in a little strip mall in Vista. You could almost walk right past it without paying any attention but that would be a mistake. The second you walk in you feel like you are in a another world! It is beautiful and tranquil. My sister and I went and each had a sugar scrub and a massage. One girl did both the scrubs and the other girl did both the massages. The scrub was divine! Jolyn did an amazing job and I would request her for a massage next time I go. I was not as impressed with the massage! The girl that did it was awesome on my upper back. She worked out all kinds of knots but when it came to the rest of my body it was almost like she didn't know what to do. It was basically just full body effleurage. When she was rubbing my feet she was only using one hand at times! The work she did on my upper back almost made up for it though. Transcend has all kinds of specials and deals every month. It is definitely worth a stop. Request Jolyn if you do! She is awesome!

My girlfriend and I booked a nice spafinder deal package for a swedish massage, mini facial, and foot scrub and had a good experience. The lady doing our facials was very kind and knowledgable, sharing information regarding skincare. The massage was fair but felt the strokes were not long and firm enough and the foot scrub wasn't all that impressive but overall it was relaxing. This day spa was pretty affordable and generous compared to some others; there are no additional amenities.
