About Mandala Wellness Retreat & Spa
Mandala Wellness Retreat & Spa offers an intimate getaway set high among the Blue Ridge Mountains in northeastern Georgia. In addition to a selection of facials and body treatments, the spa has holistic therapies, such as hypnotherapy, and weeklong programs focused on meditation, weight loss, or smoking cessation. Most spa guests stay at the welcoming, boutique-size bed and breakfast Lucille's Mountain Top Inn, attached to the spa by a covered walkway. Horseback riding and water sports are available nearby and there are plenty of hiking trails in the surrounding mountains. The area also offers art and history museums, cultural activities, and a few wineries.
Mandala Wellness Retreat & Spa, decorated with rich earth tones and boasting expansive mountain views, has a menu of traditional facials, massages, and body treatments as well as holistic wellness services. The spa director, a licensed clinical social worker and holistic psychotherapist, offers private sessions of hypnotherapy, Ayurvedic life balancing, and psychotherapy for individuals and couples. The spa also has all-inclusive retreat weeks for people who want to lose weight or quit smoking naturally.
Classes in meditation, tai chi, qigong, and yoga are available. The spa also has a yoga studio, relaxation lounge offering tea and snacks, and café serving healthy meals. Spa facilities include four treatment rooms and a gazebo and fish pond outside. Supervised children eight and older are welcome.

Response from Mandala Wellness Retreat & Spa
My first response to seeing "Mom and Pop Spa" was that this was going to be a positive review! Long a supporter of mom and pop operations of all types, I think Mandala does share some positive characteristics with them. We are small, locally owned and operated, and provide a friendly, easy-paced atmosphere where many of our customers come time and time again and have become friends. It is distressing to read that these two ladies did not enjoy their experiences with us. I'm speaking of Dawn G and Terese L as they did come together. The "special" that was mentioned was one that was sent to our "newsletter readers only" with the request that they let us know that they had seen the special when they checked in. Dawn and Terese did not do this so we had no way of knowing - until later. Upon checking out, these ladies had 4 different gift certificates they wanted to apply to their services. That was fine, but our booking system is only designed to read/manage one gift certificate at a time so the complications began at that point. Rather than hold the ladies while trying find a solution, our receptionist suggested that they go on to their planned shopping trip while she cleared things up. When they returned, the receptionist had things ready to go, but then they mentioned the discounts and she had to start over again. It was most unfortunate, and we do apologize, but it was finally resolved - without the Better Business Bureau ever being involved. As for the lunch, treatments and staff, our wraps are fresh and most folks enjoy them. The point about the Sea Algae is well taken. We do tend to be rather "modest" in our treatment protocols and would not apply product in the areas mentioned. The point about the staff being overheard is really inexcusable. I brought this up immediately with everyone and it won't happen again. The building is small and open so reminders to speak quietly are now posted in appropriate places. I do think these ladies are accustomed to "big city spas" as they say. We are not that, and won't ever be. We will, however, continue to do our best to serve those who come our way. We have been in business for nearly 10 years now and I can honestly say that we have received only a handful of complaints in all this time. We take each quite seriously of course, as there is always room for improvement. Linda L.Davis,MSW,owner
