I am afraid to review this spa, because it is my little hiding space! I found this spa by accident, while visiting San Anselmo one day, now it seems I go monthly if not more. Shibui is hidden off the main road, so I think only the locals really know about it, so it's a "best kept secret" of sorts. I live in San Francisco, so I often take a drive over to get a massage or simply soak in the hot tub and use the sauna. It feels as if I had traveled so far, but really it's only a half hour drive. When you walk through the front door it is like walking into a secret garden and suddenly the world around disappears. I have had a swedish massage and a combo with cranial sacral work. The therapists also seem to be very tuned energy workers, highly restorative and relaxing. Highly recommend!
I had the massage of my life here - lomi lomi with some rocking and Trager thrown in - started with the half hour hot tub and by the time I left, I was completely limp from head to toe. My husband had a sports massage and said it was awesome as well. Don't let the "hippie" vibe fool you - there are some seriously talented massage therapists behind that garden door!
Through the front gate is a little oasis! Great massage, relaxing hot tub while enjoying the outdoors. Perfect place to getaway from the fast pace of San Francisco.
