Spa at Equinox does not accept Spa Finder Gift CertificatesBy L | December 13, 2010
I admit the massage was great, I give it a 8-9 out of 10 stars. I had a massage therapist from Thailand and she was wonderful.
BUT the only reason why I decided to get an expensive massage was because I found them on the Spa Finder website and I wanted to use my Spa Finder Gift Certificate.
After the massage, and when I showed my Spa Finder Gift Certificate for payment, they were suprised and said that they do not accept Spa Finder Gift Certificates and that they should not have been listed on the Spa Finder Website.
They apologized and gave me a 10% discount, which is like nothing!!
So before you make that appointment, but sure to call in advance to ask if they accept Spa Finder Gift Certificates. AND I would suggest to also print out the advertisement on the Spa Finder Website in case they say they should not have been. False advetrising is not professional!!

Pleasantly Surprised!By joana | September 17, 2010
Last year, I wasn't able to locate Equinox Spa on any best spa lists, but took a chance given the Equinox name of quality in fitness and proximity to the Century City Hyatt hotel.
We were greeted by "eyes and teeth" as we pulled up to the valet and again as we walked through the front door and escorted to velvety robes and slippers and then our lockers.
The facility is of a modern, minamalist, clean aesthetic, and appeared to be well maintained with all the amenities you would expect of a quality spa and more...jacuzzi, steam, sauna, showers, plenty of towels, razors, shower caps, qtips, etc. Proximity to the Hyatt also included access to the outdoor pool and jacuzzi at the Hyatt.
I definitely recommend the Thai massage by Dee... incredible and so rejuvenating!
My sister recommends the Solstice massage with stones, and my mother the Shiatzu. We all enjoyed our treatments immensely!
After we steamed, showered, and got dressed, we walked across the street to the Westfield Century CIty shopping mall where we enjoyed an amazing lunch at Rock Sugar and shopping a plenty.
Aaah...an incredible day!
Cons: The lockers at the Equinox Spa are the combo-type and do not always work. May need to call staff to let you back into locker

Visting from SF...By LocalYogi | December 29, 2009
My wife and I was staying at the Hyatt and decided to go over to the spa. I'm not going to get into layout because I care more about the massage than the atmosphere.
The spa has 2 jacuzzi's, steam room, sauna. I had a Sports massage by a very relaxed and calming therapist. (Will)
It was by far the best massage I've ever had, he stretch me in so many ways, I didn't know my body could go. (he called it the lazy mans yoga)
After having my massage with Will, I told my wife she had to go see him. She had the Lemon Scrub with the Solstice Massage, she prefers more of a Sensual Massage over a Deep Tissue or Sports Massage.
The Solstice Massage was a combination of Warm Stones, Aromatherapy and Swedish Massage. My wife loved it and talked about her massage for days.
Thank You!
Pros: Amazing Hands...Magic Hands...Hypnotic Hands
Cons: Cafe only has water and sports drinks
