I'd have to say the spa is average. The view is amazing. The locker rooms are good. The massage therapist I had was very good. The price is TERRIBLY EXPENSIVE in comparison to other spas in the area. The room where I had a facial has no ambiance whatsoever. The staff kept slipping papers under the door during my treatment, which I thought was unprofessional and rude. Along with that, my esthetician seemed to be rushing through the entire treatment. :( Not a happy spa day. I will compliment the spa, however, on their Kiehl's products in the showers and the fact that the front desk people were all very friendly and helpful.

Spa at the gym?
By RichardC | November 30, 2009

I have mixed reviews about this spa. First, it is located inside the gym and connected to their respective locker rooms. The prices are just as expensive as going to a stand alone spa, or even more. Luckily, I was a patron at the gym (the first month I get 20% off services). And I got the mani/pedi. But still, it came out to about $60 without tip. The mani/pedi wasn't bad itself, but I expected it to be more for the price I was paying. The sun deck isn't that big at all, about 3-4 people can be out there sun bathing if they wanted. I did get to see inside the rooms even though I didn't get a massage and it looked clean and cool. I mean, the only reason I would eventually go back is for convenience cause its right there at the gym!

Wow

Although there is no pool or jacuzzi, the quality of the massage experience made up for that. Used the sun deck (great view of the city). Requested a strong deep tissue therapist. The reception desk recommended Duncan. Great technique! One of the best massages ever and I'm a massage junkie. Will definitely be back.

BEST MASSAGE!
By BryanB | June 30, 2009

I had an 80 minute massage here, and it was seriously the best I've ever had. I've been a member at the gym for a couple of years, and have never even walked into the spa. It's like a different world in there. And this guy worked me out!

Bodymelt

I had a vacation and wanted to look good. I got a body melt, this mud/conducter wrap thing that contracts your muscles. It totally worked! I lost 3 inches and my abs looked like I'd been doing situps all week. I wish I could get them all the time. I also did their spray tan, and it looked really natural.

Great to hear that your body melt went so well! Most clients see a loss of 2"-6" in one treatment! And the detox qualities are unmeasurable!

Great Massage and Facial

I was given a gift certificate from a friend on my birthday for the spa and used it for a deep pressure massage from Lana and a Hydra-Facial from Cindy. I have extremely tight shoulders that sometimes give me migraines. My massage therapist was great at giving me just the right amount of pressure, I almost fell asleep! The Hydra-Facial left my skin soft and glowing. The front desk was extra helpful and polite. You can also use the fitness area of the gym for free when you get a service! I would recommend everyone to check out this beautiful spa. Ill be going back, soon i hope!

Found this spa via spa finder and booked an 80 minute session. I asked for an experienced masseur that was requested a lot and was assigned an amazing masseur named Duncan. All I can say is, I forgot everything and floated on a cloud. Great massage!

Great Massage and Facial

I have been here twice; and had a great massage with Lana, and then again with Steffan. They asked great questions before the session and really got in there to work out my knots. They also have a great service called the Hydra Facial which I got with Liz, and my face has never looked better. The parking was super convenient, and I got to use the gym on the day of my visit. Took a yoga class; which I havent in awhile!

Amazing Experience!!!!

My boyfriend took me here for my birthday and it was the ultimate spa experience. It has the total package: heavenly spa environment, including a panoramic view of the city, and romantic sundeck; great customer service and additional ammenities, and, most importantly, exceptional therapists. My boyfriend and I had massages in the special couple's room, and we both said it was the best massage we had ever had. I also had a facial with Andie. She really took care of my skin, and gave me great product recommendations. I would go here again in a heartbeat!

I come here regularly with waxings from either Liz or Cindy. I absolutely love getting my waxings here because the facility is so clean and organized. The waxers know exactly what theyre doing, and are fast and fab.

Fantastic Hands!

I've been to many (okay, many many many) spas, and while the Spa at Equinox in West Hollywood isn't perfect, it IS consistently a great experience. The spa is absolutely gorgeous-- it has one of the best views of LA, and it smells soo good (I even bought one of their ridiculously expensive candles just so I could re-create the smell at home). It's a really, truly beautiful spa. The therapists are all professional, and really talented. I've seen four different therapists, and each had a different technique and feel, which I like. I'd highly recommend their "signature" solstice massage, because it includes hot stones. The front desk staff is super nice, and the one time I had a problem (my therapist was 20 minutes late! boo!) the manager comped the whole service. Also, because Equinox is a gym, you can workout for free there all day of your service-- so I usually take a yoga class before my massage (and the yoga classes are amazing); I always ask the front desk when I book my appointment which classes are available beforehand. I love how quiet the spa is, and I like the locker room set up-- the front desk will loan you a lock for the day if you don't have one. And unlike some other big spas in this city, I never feel rushed. Downsides: the layout is a bit confusing (especially after a massage, when your brain is like jello), and there is no pool or jacuzzi. The parking situation is confusing the first few times, too. Also, one time my massage was done in a room that I found too cold. The therapist went to fix it, but it didn't really warm up until the end of the service. However, the therapist used extra hot stones and hot towels and it turned out to be one of the best massages I've ever had, so... As for the Hammam, I love it but some friends I've brought along think it's just weird-- not too hot, sort of cave-like, although it makes my skin super soft, so I always spend time in there after my massage. No matter what, ask for a full tour from the front desk, and you'll see everything. Good for a full day of relaxation in this crazy city!!
