About Northstar Terra Spa-An Organic Day Spa
Terra Spa-Organic Day Spa has multiple locations in the San Antonio area to serve clients. The spa's focus is on providing "organic beauty from the earth" in a warm and welcoming environment. Fresh fruits and vegetables are used in custom-blended treatment preparations, with no preservatives used. The 2,100-square-foot spa has six treatment rooms and a couple's room, where services provided include inch loss body wraps, European facials, massage, enzyme peels, hand and foot treatments, and waxing. One of the spa's new offerings is their 24-carat Gold Radience Facial. Other treatments are geared towards pre- and postnatal needs, senior citizens, and teens/tweens, and there's a men's specialty menu, as well. Terra Spa runs small and large spa parties.

I am fairly new to the San Antonio area so I searched around for spas via Google and decided to go with Terra Spa because of their low pricing. My first impression was to turn around and run because the building looked like it was falling apart; it is not welcoming. I expected to walk into a "massage parlor" with a "happy ending." I was terrified! The inside is filthy. The floors had not been vacuumed. When receiving my facial, the technician did not explain what she was doing to my skin and had the lights turned off. She did not use a magnifying instrument to examine my skin. I expected them to give advice/tips on skincare and upkeep which was not offered. When asking basic questions about skincare she was unable to answer. Most spas have the products used on the client for sale. The room was filthy! I looked around and noticed that the wax pots and other devices were all plugged into an extension cord, which looked like a hazard to me. Cleanliness is not high on their priority list. All in all you get what you pay for. I highly doubt that their technicians are licensed. I would rather pay the extra $20-30.00 to be treated by a licensed professional.

This review is totally unfair. All of our estheticians and massage therapists are licensed and their licenses are displayed in the waiting room as by law.
We have an old building but it is clean and well maintained. We provide a quality service at an affordable price.
Many reviews are simply competition trying to undermine other spas and salons. I strongly feel this is the case with this review. As management was not contacted about any concerns.

I had a Great experience at the North Star location. The buliding on the outside is old but the girls that took care of me inside more than made up for that. Lakesha gave me an awesome facial she was very informative concerning my skin issues. Monica did my massage and it was one of the best massages i have had. I look forward to going back soon to try the body wrap. You can tell these girls really care about the clients and level of service. Dont judge based on the outside of the building.

I was given a gift certificate for my bridal shower. Originally, I initally chose Terra Spa went because it was exteremly affordable. The place was attractive and the staff were very friendly. I had the renewal package-5 hour package. I was glowing on my wedding day, my skin was smooth and I had a beautiful glow. Overall, the place is nice, the staff is friendly and the products are awesome. I love love love their products!!!!! I can't say it enough, they rock.

I chose to use my SpaFinder certificate at Terra Spa because I loved the concept behind it (eco-friendly, organic heaven).
I really didn't have expectations because nobody I knew had ever been there. I have been to bigger, well-known "hoity toity" spas,but for some reason I have always felt uncomfortable or left wanting more. When I arrived at Terra Spa I was offered tea while I filled out a questionnaire and waited for my therapist. I loved the fact that it was smaller than the spas I had been to before because it made the experience more personal and quaint. I have to honestly say, I had the best massage ever!!! The staff was kind, knowledgeable, and very professional. I strongly recommend this spa...you will not be disappointed.

So these so called "Body wraps" are a scam. Its nothing but a watery sea weed liquid and plastic wrap you use to wrap food. They wrap you and then have use sit down for a hour, they said your suppose to sweat but the room was so cold i never once sweated. they measure you before and after. Well they said i had lost 6 inches. which was a huge lie i had measured my self before from a chart that they used from one of my friends that had got one from Terra. Turns out i didnt even lose a 1/2 inch. Im so mad i wasted 65.00 bucks on nothing, i called my friend who had gotten one and told her the truth. We will NEVER go there again. How is this placed still running!!

I was given this gift certificate to Terra Spa, excited to go I got there early thinking I was at the wrong place, come to find out it's this old beat up building in the ghetto, I was truly scared to get out of my car, so giving the place the benifit of the doubt I went inside and the inside looked worst than the outside. All though the staff was nice, this place was a joke. They took me to my room , mind you the floors were ridiculously dirty and hand hand paintings on the wall. So while I'm getting massaged I couldn't relax cause all I was hearing was busy San Pedro street and the Mexican resturant next stop. I could literally hear people talking on the curb. And it just goes on, if you want to spend your hard worked money and have a fabulous time DONT EVER GO HERE!!!!! Sincerly, Dissapointed.

I would not recommend this spa at the Northstar location. First of all, I was scared to get out of my car (that I had to park on the street in a run-down area). My appointment was at 10am. I showed up at 9:50am and the door was locked b/c they don't open until 10am. That's fine. So, at 10am I walked in, was greeted nicely, and filled out the paperwork they asked. After waiting about 10 minutes (for her to prepare my facial ingredients), I went back to get my deep-tissue massage. It was a great massage without question, even with the sound of loud trucks outside and street noise in the ghetto. However, it was supposed to last for 1 hour and she only gave me less than a 45 minute massage (even though I paid for 1 hour). It ended at 10:55 (per their clock in the room that I checked when I walked in too). Then the facial started at about 11am. It was somewhat relaxing, again, despite the outside noise and the sound of the crock pots she was using to keep my ingredients in and moving them around. Completely ghetto. Because of the massage, I did need to use the restroom about half the way through the facial but they do not provide a robe, so I would have had to completely dress and go to the restroom. Also, every other facial I've had, the esthitician had a magnifying glass of some kind that she used to find my "problem spots" and this facial didn't even have a light on in the room, let alone a magnifying glass. My face felt a little tighter, but the blemishes were still there the next day and the tightness was gone the next day also. I was dressed and out of there at 12pm, and the massage and facial were both supposed to be an hour each. Cheap, old, gross facility and cheap service (minus the great massage that I got docked 15 minutes). Do not visit this location. I will try the Alamo Heights location b/c I've heard it's nicer, but I'll have to see it to believe it.

I was looking for a spa for my mom's birthday so I saw great reviews about this spa so I decided to let her try it. When I came back to the spa to pick her up she said she really enjoyed it; she was talking about how Latosca and Daniella did a great job on her. She said that they gave her the best service: facial, massage and a foot treatment which she was against lol. I thank Terra Spa staff for making my mom's birthday memorable for her. We will visit this place again.

I called one morning on the weekend to make an appointment and nobody answered the phone, was forced to leave a message. Tried calling back 3x but same thing. Nobody ever called me back that day OR the next. Tried calling the next day a few times, same issue. What kind of place that's supposedly open 7 days a week won't even answer their phone!? i would never do business with a company that doesn't think their potential clients are worth speaking to. You've lost my business!

I have been to several spas. Many of them costing several times more than this one. However, I always found the service to be stuffy, cold, and spa treatments to be mediocre at best.
Terraspa has a friendly staff that is warm and welcoming. They do their best to accomodate every request. One of my pet peeves is a weak massage. At terraspa, I choose my favorite therapists and get a deep, strong, massage that breaks down all the stress, fatigue, and aches I might have.
Their treatments are fabulous, and you can see and feel results immediately. These are not typical treatments using typical products that you can purchase and do at home. These are handmade, fresh, customer specific treatments. Using organic oils, herbs, etc the treatments work better, are good for you, and good for the environment.
I do prefer their newer location in Alamo heights vs. the other location, simply because the decor is newer and more relaxing, in my opinion.
I would never again, go anywhere else!
I recommend everyone try:
aromatherapy massage, gold or rooibos facial, and a dead sea salt scrub treatment. If you need to lose inches fast, try the body wrap for inch loss. I use it before every special occasion when I want to look a little slimmer.

I love having a Spa Day. The new Alamo Heights location for Terra Spa is great, close to my office, but a true escape from my tension filled day. My services were the best I have experienced in all my traveling for business (at some of the best in the USA). The friendly staff make it my kind of place, there is nothing pretentious about this place.

Thanks to a dear friend who sent me a Spafinder GC, I was able to try out this lovely spa...The spa is a easy to find by the San Antonio Airport-not far from Northstar Mall. The spa is nicely decorated in calming earth tones.
I called for a package that I saw online and was able to book an appointment within a couple of days. My package included the Rooibus red tea facial (amazing-to die for), signature foot treatment and Japanese Hot Stone Massage. I was greeted nicely upon my arrival, the staff are really relaxing not stuffy and uptight, like you normally find in a spa.

Was not impressed with the body wrap. I actually gained inches instead of losing. Also, the building is old and the ambiance is not quiet. Looks like the building and rooms are from the 70's. If you are looking for a luxury spa this is not the place for you.
