Minding the Body Wellness Center serves men, women, and children in southern New Jersey. Their philosophy is, "Treat the body and the mind will follow" and their intention is to help clients live happy and healthy lives. Services offered include facials, tanning, body scrubs, colon hydrotherapy, a seaweed body wrap, and ear candling. A variety of massage modalities are available and on-site massages are performed. Some of the spa's special offerings are an anti-aging capsule and car accident and sports therapies. There are packages for couples or guests may create their own; two of the spa's special packages are the Cold Remedy Package and the Working Man's Special, geared toward men who work at physically strenuous jobs.Location

I purchased a Groupon for a colonic at this spa. I wish I had done my research first. I was escorted to a room where I was told to undress and sit on a machine. I had never had one before, so I thought there would be a consultation. I noticed that the machine did not seem very clean so I asked the lady to clean it better. She pulled out a bottle of Fantastic and a papertowel and "cleaned" the machine. I said a prayer and mounted the machine. I was not told what to expect, the lady just turned on the water and left the room. I was nervous and scared. I began getting terrible cramps and asked to get off of the machine. The lady asked how long I had been on. (Shouldn't she be timing this?) I didn't think it should hurt based on the articles I read. She massaged my stomach a bit and tried to get me to continue. After I got off of the machine I had nothing to clean myself with but some rough papertowels you would find in a restruant bathroom. I felt disgusting, so I went to the bathroom to clean up, but there was no soap. This was the worst expereince ever. The staff was not helpful and did not seem knowledgeable, and the facilities seemed to be unsaitary. As soon as I got home, I took a shower and vowed never to return.

I had a voucher for a 30-minute deep tissue massage, a full-body exfoliating treatment, microdermabrasion treatment, and a 'wellness consultation.' Told that "an experienced massage therapist will relieve those painful knots," I was quite irked to learn that my therapist clearly hadn't a day of training in massage therapy, making superficial hand gestures that were less eventful for my bodily tensions than a hot bath. But not to outdo herself, she then proceeded to perform the promised "full-body exfoliating treatment" -- merely a quick application of a store-bought body scrub, which I then showered off. But before showering, I had my microderm, and despite the therapist insisting otherwise, she ignored all parts of my face save my forehead. As a man whose skin gets beaten up from daily shaving, my forehead is the *least* of my concerns. And to top it all off, they didn't even bother with the promised 'wellness consultation.'
Despite this spa's claims that its services are under the supervision of experienced physicians and nutritionists, it was clear that the woman servicing me (who barely spoke English, so likely an illegal immigrant working under the table) hadn't the slightest clue what she was doing. NEVER go here.

When I first arrived, the ambience of the spa was unusual. The massage I had was out of this world. I have had massages at Milagro, Red Door, Etc but Minding the Body has the best therapist. I also had a facial that was by far the best one I have ever had. My face was beaming when I was done. They have a dry sauana too. They offer a lot of services that other spa do not have like capsules, and clonics. I definitely will return! The prices make this spa easy to return to!
