A good friend and I recently used gift certificates that we received for Mother's Day. While some parts of the experience were very nice - check-in and out, waiting area, complementary make-up application - the facials themselves were cursory, sloppy, and inattentive. We both felt that the estheticians just wanted to get us done and move on to their next appointment. I had so much excess product on my skin after the facial that I had to wipe my face off in the dressing room. Very disappointing for a well-known spa

Red Door offers a huge number of services in each category (facials, massages, body treatments, etc)...maybe they should offer fewer and do those ones better.
Red Door needs to catch on that with the number of spa out there nowadays that just their name isn't going to cut it~they actually have to live up to that name, EVERYTIME!!

I arrived as a walk-in for a pedicure. I was told that there was only time for a mini-pedi, which was just as expensive as other places' full pedicures, except they spend half the time on it. In need of a pedi, I agreed. I had never been to this specific location before, and nobody directed me to the nail area. A woman, who I quickly realized would be doing my nails, led me to the room- probably after noticing me looking around. She seemed rushed. The space between my neighbors and I was very small. The quick pedi was "meh." The same as a super cheap-o place. Not worth the price. I noticed that she got a lot of polish on my toes.After the pedicure I went to the makeup area, as I wanted to buy some new products. The woman who asked me to sit down to apply makeup was very nice, and I thought things would perk up. After she started talking to me about my makeup routine, a woman, who must have been a regular, came in, and started talking to the makeup woman. The woman turned her back to me, ignoring me, and about 5 minutes of waiting there, I decided to just pay and leave. Wouldn't go back.

I commute from Alexandria to go to the Bethesda Red Door location. They offer threading, which is still relatively rare. Nishu does a wonderful job. I refuse to go back to waxing my eyebrows! This will doom my chances even more of getting an appointment, but it must be said. Chantra is exceptional. She's very meticulous and goes the extra mile to pamper Red Door clients. I will drive an hour to get her exemplary service! If you want a new look, May is great for haircuts. She rescued a failed haircut that I had--and I've been loyal ever since! Her highlights were exactly what I wanted! It looks so incredibly natural. There! I just made it even harder for me to get appointments with my favorite Red Door employees! Since they're popular, I recommend setting up an account on the Red Door web site. Then, you can book appointments.
