Pricey - but worth itBy ShoshanaW | February 13, 2013
It's a Red Door Spa - so you know it's not too cheap, but the services are worth it - (especially if you use gift cards purchased at a discount!). Would love to go back!

It was ok.By Julia z | September 22, 2012
Too many questions from the therapists on social status. Maybe they just want to be friendly but I am used to make friends with therapists.

Love this spaBy oofsxfroggii | January 4, 2012
Beautiful spa with sauna, hot tub, and steam room. The treatment rooms were clean, luxurious, and the services were wonderful. Although it's pricey, it's definitely worth a visit!

A Great High End Spa ExperienceBy SpaExpert | July 29, 2011
Most spas in NYC do not have showers for men, least good one. This one does. The staff was on top of making sure everything taken care of. Treatment was very good. This is a well-run company with many other spas and they operate at the high-end of the food chain.

Glorious Get AwayBy KimberlyF | December 8, 2010
Hubby and I cashed in a wedding gift and made our escape from our normal lives to the Red Door Spa the day after Thanksgiving. The staff were friendly and polite. The decor was neutral with touches of bold red. The music was soothing. We each had a massages and lunch. The massages were very professional and fantastic. It was a wonderfully sumptuous time. We have decided to make this a destination of choice for the upcoming year often and frequently. I did have some concerns about what would happen because of some horrible reviews I read before going but our experience was extraordinarily refreshing. We will be returning soon. I'm going to surprise hubby with a visit early next year before Valentine's Day. Thank you Red Door for being so incredibly special.

It was OKBy OlgaL | June 11, 2010
I went there with my friend to get a massage. It was not bad at all, but after we left the spa we could not really say anything great about our experience there. It was just OK. Also later on i did a research about chemicals in beauty products and found out that Elizabeth Arden products are among the most dangerous ones. Be careful and educate yourself about products you use everyday.

Loved the Massage TherapistBy DEIRDREB | May 10, 2010
Just had the Signature Massage here for Mother's Day. Check-in was okay, but could have been friendlier or to put it simply I did not feel welcomed! But thankfully the massage therapist made-up for it! Anita has 25 yrs experience & it shows she has hands like silk & was very thorough & even went over the time that was scheduled for this service. I would go back to this spa just for Anita! Had this massage at another Red Door location but it was nothing like this experience.

Facial and MassageBy Kerri AnnB | January 27, 2010
I came here for a massage and facial with a co-worker. The massage was great. She used hot stones even though I did not pay for that just to give me the experience for next time. The facial was not the greatest but overall this place was good

Not what I expected!!!!By Imani | January 2, 2009
I was very disappointed with the Red Door Spa on 5th Avenue. The receptionist who assisted me was the best part. She was extremely helpful. My masseuse was horrible. The room was very cold and bland. I felt like I was at a physical therapy appointment instead of a massage. She rubbed not massaged. I then had a facial that was scheduled for 50 minutes and it lasted 30. The person who assisted me was really rushed. She seemed as though it was time for her lunch break as she went in and out of the room several times while my face and eyes were covered. IThe steam machine was spitting hot water into my face as though the machine was malfunctioning. She then proceeded to push products on me after telling me my skin was perfect and I had no flaws, but I should try a different cleanser. When at the desk for purchase the lady behind the counter recommended something else, my person seemed totally clueless as to what I should then buy (after she stated she has beent there for 25 years). She had just finished my 30 minute facial. I then had a pedicure where I had to wait as my person was still busy with another customer and noone seemed the least bit fazed that I was 15 minutes passed my scheduled start time. Finallly, another pedicurist offered to do it. My last treatment was a makeup refresher, although the make-up artist was extremely pleasant, she had no idea on what color should be applied to my face. I left there looking like a ghost. The atmosphere in the relaxing room was extremely dark and the carpet was old. The bathroom wasn't cleaned and there was no toilet paper and the garbage was overflowing. The changing room is extremely small and there is no bending ability, so please be petite. I was extremely disappointed as I thought this being Elizabeth Arden that the service and atmosphere would be impeccable. So not worth the trip from Princeton to New York. I will find a location closer to home for my next appointment. No, this was not my first spa visit. I was extremely disappointed and will not return.

Elizabeth RottenBy Chillywilly | June 3, 2008
My appointment was at 9:30am; I arrived at 9:00am checked in and sat in the relaxation room. At 9:30am, no one came. I patiently waited until 9:45am and asked the lady who work in the dressing room what’s going on. Apparently, the girl who checked me in didn’t mark me in the computer and she happens to be the manager, no apology at all from her.
I did cream and sugar scrub/massage last about 45 minutes, facial for 30 minutes, lunch was not that great but eatable, pedicure and manicure met my expectation($112.00 plus tax and tips better be good right?), haircut and blow dry for about 20 minutes, and makeup for about 10 minutes. The whole package was close to $800.00.
I figure, Elizabeth Arden on 5th AVE in Manhattan, it had to be one of the best. The pipe was exposed from the ceiling with a lot of dust bunny, as well as the vent on the central ac. Wall has a few cracks and paint chips were on the floor here and there. The place was not as upscale as I thought it would be. Even know tips was pay in advance already (you like the service or not, they charge 20% service charge in advance), they still kind of waiting for you to tip them more. Scrub/massage was okay, I had better. Facial was average, she is kind of in the hurry. Pedicure and manicure was exactly what I expect from Elizabeth Arden. Hair and blow dry was okay, I cannot really say too much about it as my hair style is very easy any monkey can do it. Make up, I had better, I also had a lot of bad experiences from other places, at least I didn’t take it off. The package suppose to come with a rope as gift, never mention anything when I left about the rope, and I totally forgot about it as I was so anxious to leave the place. The “whole” day spa is not worth $800.00 period!
