Poor Poor Manicure
I was in yesterday morning with a gel manicure with Betty - when I booked the appointment, I made mention that I wanted a french manicure. When I sat down at the table, I was asked what color I wanted - I said I wanted a french manicure and Betty told me she doesn't know how to do them! So I picked another color & on with the manicure. I had to point out that my finger nails were jagged at the ends and had to ask for them to be smoothed. It wasn't until I got into my car that I realized how uneven the color was, it was extremely streaky - heavy in some areas, light in others. The polish from a previous manicure was still showing! It looked that bad I had to stop to get some acetone to soak it off. After I was done in the store, I noticed the bag had made increases in my nail - even further proof it was a poor job. I had been going to a chain salon in a strip mall for my manicures and thought I'd treat myself to a real salon experience only to be very disappointed. It was not worth my time or the money I spent on the Groupon.

Birthday Classic Facial
This was my first (and not last) experience at Bernard's at Brighton Day Spa & Salon. I had the pleasure of getting a facial there with Michelle the day before my birthday. It was a wonderful experience that I hope to repeat again! The room was very peaceful and the bed was the most comfortable one I have relaxed on in a spa. I am looking forward to my next visit!

I had my first facial here today and it was phenomenal! I had the cherry chocolate jubile treatment, it incredibly soothing and rejuvenating. The ambiance is extremely peaceful and relaxing, I work in an extremely stressful environment and on my feet 12+ hrs/day so having the stressed massaged and cleansed away was wonderful. And having the mini massages all over in between masks was a pleasant surprise. Hands down, best facial spa experience I have ever had. I loved it so much and will be returning as often as possible! I am absolutely referring my best friends. Be sure to check this spa out!! :)

A disappointing day
Six of us had booked spa appointments at Bernard's. We are all from out of town and were told that it took 15 minutes to get from where we were staying to the spa. It took 35 minutes so we were late. The owner was horribly rude from the minute we got there even though we apologized profusely. She cut minutes and services out of our treatments in order to "meet her schedule" but charged us full price anyway. The treatments were adequate but certainly not great but at least the other technicians were pleasant. There were five young moms who expected to be pampered and instead were disappointed and angry.

Love this Spa
My daughter and I have been to Bernard's many times. We travel from New Jersey every few months to have the most wonderful Spa experience. I have the Signature Facial with Michelle and I have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is wonder and when I leave after having my facial I truly cannot wait to return for my next one. This weekend we were there and I just feel wonderful. If I lived closer I would be there every month. Thank you to all at the Spa for making me feel wonderful. Elaine

I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Brighton's. The staff greeted me as soon as I came in the door. Each interaction I had with the staff was friendly and put me at ease. The decor was beautiful and the rooms very clean and comfortable. I had the package in a pinch, but didn't feel at all rushed. I would highly recommend this spa to my friends.

Lovely Couples Massage
My sweetheart and I had a Couples Massage here. The staff were attentive and very accommodating. The spa was calm, peaceful and felt clean but not cold. I called last minute during Thanksgiving time, afraid I wouldn't get an appointment but they squeezed us in. Overall it was a lovely experience.

Worthy of its Reputation!
I was a bit skeptical after hearing about a spa AND salon that so many people "LOVE". It's hard enough to find one or the other. And it is never easy to leave the salon you have been going to even when you aren't thrilled with it. I heard about Bernard's, and then decided to try the place when a friend told me about a Facebook special for The Bernard. I have seen it from the outside and didn't think much of it. The inside is just stunning. It is elegant, and so much different from anywhere else I have been in Lancaster. While other places here are trying to be really trendy, Bernard's is super classy. Michelle started with the body treatment. I never had one before, but it was phenomenal. She followed that with the most relaxing facial I have ever experienced. Laura gave me a hot stone massage that was to die for! Oh and I got to go into this great serenity room to relax between my treatments, and I also had a light lunch. The mani and pedi were also very good, and I especially liked the atmosphere in the pedicure room. Then Jean styled my hair and did some light make-up. I felt so fabulous! I was also given samples to try on my skin. What a nice touch. My skin is radiant. This place more than earns its reputation. This is my new spa AND salon of choice! Do yourself a favor...go outside your comfort zone of the other local places and give it a try!

My daughter and I have been to Bernard's twice and have had a wonderful experience each time. We live in New Jersey and travel to the Lancaster area to go to Bernard's and enjoy the services that the Spa offers. I have had many facials but none compare to the one's I have had here. Michele is just wonderful and the Spa is spotless, relaxing and enjoyable. The last time I was there I was sorry I didn't extend my service. We will be going back to Lancaster in August and have already booked our Spa services. Elaine

I was going to a very popular salon in Lancaster, and spending a fortune on my hair. I was never all that happy, but I figured that was "the" place to go in Lancaster, so I must just be picky. I was having trouble booking an appointment at my salon, so I decided to try Bernard's. I am SO happy I did! I love, love, love my hair!!! And the prices are so much more reasonable. I returned to try the spa, and had a fabulous facial. The salon and spa are simply stunning. Thank you, Bernard's!

I visited Bernard's on a recent trip to Lancaster. My mother and I had previously been to a more famous spa in the area, but were staying in Lancaster, and figured we'd try something new. I have to say that we were both astonished at the quality of the service at Bernard's--I had a body scrub and my mother had a facial. Both were better than we experienced in any other! The staff was courteous and professional, the serenity room was perfect, the service rooms were comfortable and cozy, the music was calming, and I can't think of anything that could have improved my experience other than booking more appointments! I can't wait to return the next time I'm in town!

horrible. I was shocked
The decor of this spa is so great. Very clean. Beautiful floors, service stations, even the walls are a warm inviting color. So i was SO disappointed and even a little shocked that my actual experience getting a spa pedi + quicky mani went so wrong! To start: one of my reasons for choosing this spa was because they offer changing rooms, robes, and a relaxation area to wait in. Only did my friend getting a facial get to change and go back into the spa, the rest of us were left to wait in the main reception for 10-15 minutes till they were ready for us. In the 1.5 hrs i was with my technician, she left me to answer the phone or help someone at the front desk 4 times. only once of which she apologized for! also because she was obviously manning the desk, she kept the door to the nail room wide open, which i just found gave little privousy. I felt like my time i was paying for was not priority The file she used was dull, she continually filed my SKIN next to my nail, & overall just didn't seem like she new what she was doing. The nail polish i had chosen turned out to be so old that it was thick and tacky, resulting in a VERY MESSY paint job. there were actual spots of nail not covered & parts of my skin that was painted, and she did nothing to fix it. Also when she painted my fingernails, she did not come near close enough to my cuticuls- it looked like i had at least a weeks worth of regrowth. There were so many other things that went wrong with this appointment. I should mention that my friends nails looked great, but her technician ran late and started her 20 minutes after mine started. Over all I just found my technician to be incredibly rude and appeared to be very inexperienced. And being that she just happened to be the owner as well, I highly doubt that her poor example and business practices are not shared with the rest of the staff. I will not waist my money or time going back there.
As one of the owners of Bernard's, I offer my sincerest apology that you were unhappy with your experience. I do want to explain that typically people receiving only nail services do not change into a robe and most often those who are receiving both spa and nail services will change back into their clothes after their spa services for the nail services. That said, if we know that our nail clients WISH to change into a robe and spend time in the serenity room we are very happy to accommodate and encourage that request. As far as the service was concerned, we strive to offer the best service available with a talented, caring staff. I am sorry that your visit did not reflect that ideal and invite you to return for another Spa Pedi and Mani or your choice of either a 50 Minute Massage or Facial, so that you will experience the best Bernard's has to offer.

I took my mother for a day at the spa. Bernards more than exceeded my expectations. The staff is amazing and they make you feel like royalty. If there were any other women there besides me and my mom, I did not know it. The services were above and beyond what we hoped for. My mom had never had treatments before and I am so glad this was her first experience. I could not have asked for anything more. This is just what a spa should be like and you will not find service like this anywhere else in lancaster county. Hats offf to Bernards. Need I say more??

Package in a Pinch!
A girlfriend and I spent this past weekend in Lancaster for a last minute girls getaway before her wedding! We called in advance to schedule the package and when we got to Bernards we had to ask that a portion of her package be changed for medical reasons. They were more than happy to find something else to fit into the package for her to make sure she still got to enjoy her day. We both did the Package in a Pinch and wished we would've had more time! I've had full day spa treatments before and not lefted as relaxed as I did in quicky spa day at Bernards! Thank you ladies!

90 Minutes of Bliss
This spa was incredible and I can't wait to go back again when I am in town. The massage was simply the best I've ever had. It is peaceful, quiet, and simply an incredible place that makes you forget the world outside exists. I love gettting a perfect haircut and then relaxing in the rest of the spa.

More than just a facial...a relaxing experience
I received a facial at Bernard's as a gift! What a gift it was! Since this was not my first facial, I was prepared to enjoy a facial and feel the glow afterwards, but I had no idea how relaxing the experience was going to be. As I told my husband later, "I don't know if I have ever been so relaxed...I just melted into the bed" The facial room was relaxing and beautifully designed, the music was so perfect I almost didn't notice it, and the facial professional was incredible. She used just the right amount of pressure and the scents of the lotions were so light they enhanced the experience instead of overwhelming it. I was able to just lay back, relax, and think of nothing but how much I was enjoying myself. The next day, I sent an email to all my friends in the area telling them to treat themselves, or someone they loved to a facial or massage at Bernard's. You won't be disappointed if you go to Bernard's. They were professional, customer focused and I can't imagine there is another salon of this caliber anywhere in this area! Enjoy!!

A relaxing and refreshing facial!
This is a beautiful spa in a beautiful location with easy access, for starters! I was greeted warmly and seen at the scheduled time for a 30 minute facial. The room was quiet and restful and it was a half-hour of needed relaxation. If it had been longer I probably would have floated away somewhere! My therapist was excellent...both skillfull and pleasant. Bernard's at Brighton is a fully equipped spa with many different services available...head to toe treatments for the most discriminating consumer. Make your appointment today!

Bernard's is what Lancaster needed! I was given a gift card for my birthday for a spa package. When you walk in, you are greated by a beautiful portrait of "Bernard". I was escorted to the locker room where I was able to change into a robe, and then I slipped into the serenity room to sip on tea while I relaxed. My massage therapist was Anita, who gave me the very best massage I have ever had! Michelle performed a paprika facial. It was to die for! I have never been so relaxed during a facial. I then had a spa pedicure. These pedicure chairs are a must see! They are stunning and the room is wonderful! My services were completed with a touch up of my hair and make-up-both complimentary! What a nice touch! Sign up for the email! They send specials and you can schedule online. My husband and I are scheduled for a couple's massage next!
