We Care Spa, a destination spa complete with panoramic mountain views in Desert Hot Springs, has been leading the movement of cleansing the body, mind, and soul with an all-liquid diet program since 1986. Coupled with colon therapy, yoga, meditation, lymphatic massages and other purposeful healing body treatments and activities, personal instruction is used for instruction in nutrition, breath work, and more. The notion of fasting in the desert as a means to physical and mental clarity has existed since the beginning of time. We Care's programs are based on the theory that most people are taking in an excess amount of toxins through a diet of processed foods filled with additives and preservatives. Often, these toxins contribute to disease and adverse health conditions such as low energy, digestive problems, decreased alertness, allergies, fatigue, and weight gain. We Care's liquid diet is designed to cleanse the system, especially the large intestine and colon.

The spa program at We Care Spa focuses on cleansing and detoxifying the body through an all-natural liquid fast. Some of the specific products used in this diet are Kyogreen, Powergreen, Acidophilus, freshly squeezed vegetable juice, lemon water, enzymes, and teas. Guests begin their day with fitness and nutrition classes. Throughout the day, guests ingest eleven different nutritional drinks, one per hour.

A variety of additional services and therapy options are available. To facilitate the cleansing process, lymphatic massage is offered to keep the body's lymphatic system functioning properly. Manual therapy modalities are formulated to relieve blockages from the body's energy flow and include reflexology, digestive releases, stone massage, and raindrop therapy. Detoxifying body scrubs are aimed at opening clogged pores and exfoliating dead skin cells for more effective detoxification.

Designed by celebrated environmental designer Jennifer Johnson, the rooms are architecturally curvaceous and have cushy carpeting. A host of all-natural beauty products, including detox bath salt, fill the enormously spacious bathrooms. Colony Suites are over-the-top accommodations with rich linens, fireplaces, and oversized bathtubs. Deluxe rooms are corner units with king and twin size beds, comfortable seating area, and a personal patio. Private rooms are spacious and include queen size beds, private baths, and unique decor.

The We Care liquid diet is rich in nutrients and offers many specific ingredients to address flushing various organs including the liver and kidneys that act as filtering systems for the body. As the body easily accepts the natural liquid diet, it allows the digestive system to utilize more energy in cleaning out the life long accumulated waste products and toxins. This process is accelerated through the use of colonics: an effective measure for accelerating the emptying and cleaning of the colon and large intestine. Some of the specific products used as part of the We Care natural liquid diet include Kyogreen, Spirulina, Wheat Grass, Barley, Acidophilus, and freshly squeezed vegetable juice.

Activities
We Care offers a very laid-back healing environment where many guests tend to form long-term intimate friendships or relax undisturbed in solitude. The facility offers a sauna, swimming pool, Jacuzzi, labyrinth, and a desert walking path as well as day passes to the local natural hot springs, complimentary to all guests. In the magical setting surrounded by magnificent mountains in a serene desert oasis with incredible pink sunsets and beautiful blue skies in a perfect climate, guests enjoy hiking or walking in the Mojave desert, relaxing in the pool, and taking evening meditation and yoga classes.

The We Care program offers a variety of psychological and spiritual workshops including yoga, pranic healing, meditation, breath work, and desert walks, among others.

Upon departure from We Care, guests often report increased energy and vitality, improved skin tone, and improved sleep. Chemical dependencies are often lessened or even eliminated, as are weight problems. We Care features a number of educational programs to help guests make lasting lifestyle changes, among them classes on nutrition and preparation of one's own food and kitchen as well as good shopping habits and even practical, health-conscious restaurant dining.

The peace and beauty of the We Care oasis have entered all of my senses. The mountains hold us as the wind dances with the trees. The quiet is so nourishing as we sip our teas and juices. The common room is filled with the laughter of my new friends. The staff is amazingly kind and helpful. I have learned so much in a very short time about nutrition and balance. All the classes are designed to promote our understanding and maintanence of our new healthier lifestyle. I will be heading back to my life with a clearer head and happier heart. ( and 5 lbs lighter) Yeah!

THE ENTIRE CONCEPT IS JUST GREAT! FASTING IS EASY ESPECIALY WHEN YOU INDULGE IN THOSE WONDERFUL TREATMENTS THAT ARE AVAILABLE. THE STAFF IS EXPERIENCED; THE GROUNDS ARE BREATHTAKING AND THE SPIRITUALITY JUST OOZES FROM EACH AND EVERY CORNER OF THE RESORT. PAY ATTENTION TO THOSE LITTLE HUMMING BIRDS, SOOO CUTE!!! I SPENT 2 WEEKS THERE AND IT WAS THE BEST THING I'VE EVER DONE FOR MYSELF. CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK. BETTY G.

I never thought I was possible to feel the way I feel at this very moment. I was a bit skeptical about how everything at this spa worked but once i was there the staff the healers the treatments, OH MY GOD! it all made sense. I would recommend this spa to anyone and everyone. A MUST GO!...

For 14 years I have been coming to this amazing little jewel ....LIKE AN OASIS in Desert Hot Springs CA.I have learned so much about health healing and detoxification and the liquid/juice fast sets you up for an amazing cleansing experience. Colon hydrotherapists are very experienced and intuitive.... would recommend the Korean Body Splash, Magnesium wra and Raindrop Therapy.......

This is the biggest rip off ever. I was promised a free treatment and never got it, even though I asked. Some of the staff are very unfriendly and when you haven't eaten in days it doesn't help when they aren't. It's one big sales job. Vitamix, we care suppliments, cds, books, etc. The bath is small, not oversized as promised. The workout facility isn't. No physicians or nurses on staff. The room is o.k. We got a room on the East side and got little sleep because of sunrise at 5:30am. It's very overpriced! Find another detox spa to go to. I know they ssy celebrities come here but it's more like celebrity wannabes. I came here to relax and get healthy. Not a sales job.

I was really looking forward to a clensing and rejuvinating stay at We Care Spa and was throughly disappointed. The maitence and spa staff were attentive but this is liquid fast, (i.e. potentially very dangerous) and there isn't a single doctor on the staff. By the third day I was shaking and having palipitations. Now I feel like I need a vacation to recuperate from my visit to the We Care Spa. So save your money and add healthy changes to your diet or go to better staffed and more food friendly spa

This is a detox place....make no mistake about it. Funky but rooms are actually nice. Not a lot of people here as this is really a detox get away. Many celebrities and such come here. Come for work outs, walks, killer detox juices, rest and such. No lap of luxury but does the job.

  • We Care is located 15 minutes from the Palm Springs Airport, two and a half hours from Los Angeles Airport, and one hour from Ontario Airport.
