Sonia Day Spa offers guests a soothing atmosphere for spa treatments enhanced by warm colors and the sounds of soft music and a waterfall in the background. The 1,800-square-foot spa has three treatment rooms, a relaxation room, a locker room, and a retail area. Services include massage, reflexology, a purifying back treatment, body warps, a salt glow, Elemis facials, paraffin waxing, spa manicures and pedicures, makeup applications and lessons, and waxing. The spa hosts events including parties and clients may customize their own day of beauty that includes champagne and lunch as well as two spa services. Wedding packages and monthly specials are also available.

I had very high hopes per the reviews. However, the young woman who performed my pedicure was astoundingly lazy; she put almost no effort at all into the service, which, by the way, was not inexpensive. Even after I explained how much my feet hurt from wearing heels every day, and telling her which parts of the pedicure where my favorite, she only did the bare minimum to call it a spa pedicure. It seemed as if she were all about painting my nails, Next time, I will save the $50.00 and paint my own toes.

I have visited Sonia Day Spa several times since it opened in Hamden, CT. I like it so much I consider myself a regular!! I have tried almost every service from manicures, pedicures, massages, facials, etc. I am always pleased with every service. The products are top of the line, the services are fabulous, and the staff is knowledgeable and courteous. I travel often and have visited other top notch spas in both NYC and Rhode Island. Both spas were gorgeous but the services I received did not compare to those at Sonia Day Spa. This is a spa paradise almost in my own backyard. For the locals it's a must visit, and for those not so local - it's worth the drive!

Perfect ending to a stressful day/week

I have been to Sonia Day Spa several times. Whether I am short on time and just want to get in for a "beauty fix" with a manicure or pedicure, or have a little extra time and need to have the kinks worked out, Sonia Day Spa is the ULTIMATE in my spa experiences. The staff is warm and friendly, the environment is inviting (they have a soothing waterfall as one walks in the door - not to mention the one in the 'relaxation room'), and the services are incredible. So far I've had two massages, both of which left me feeling renewed, THE BEST FACIAL I HAVE EVER HAD (they use the elemis line and it does WONDERS for the skin!), and the manicures and pedicures I get always make me feel beautiful and relaxed. If I weren't crazy enough about the services, I went as far as to try the Jane Iredale make up line that they carry and ended up throwing out all of my old mineral makeup for Iredale's weightless, skin improving line! To put it shortly, you need to check out this spa!!! :)
