Treatments great, facilities disappointing
The treatments I had at this spa were great, the staff friendly, and the facilities for treatments were lovely (relaxation room for before and after, and a refreshment room to help yourselves to tea and cookies). However I could not recommend the facilities of the thermal area. The steam room smelt of sweaty socks and was not very warm. The aroma room was tepid and didn't smell of anything much. The sauna was not hot either. And the ice room wasn't cold and you couldn't sit down because there were broken tiles on the seating area.
The pool was very nice and it was quiet when we went. But the changing facilities were cold and it is worth noting if you are planning to visit here that towels cost £1 (non refundable) each to hire and gowns and slippers are not provided. It feels very much like day guests aren't welcome (a hotel resident got two free towels as we were registering).
The facilities are spilt over two levels (treatments on one, pool and thermal area another) so we ended up getting fully clothed to go up the stairs for treatments (since no robes). It is easy to find, good city centre location (great for those on public transport).
I would have another treatment here, but not pay extra to use the thermal area facilities.
