Currently Craving: Cold Weather Hair Care

Thanks to the plummeting temperatures our bodies are taking a bit of a beating especially when it comes to our skin and hair! We already shared our fave products for how to keep your skin refreshed and radiant all winter long but what about our crowning glory?

The cold does major damage when it comes to our locks, sucking out all of the moisture and leaving it dull, brittle, and lifeless.  Stop cold weather hair damage in its tracks with some of our favorite products for keeping your hair looking lush… despite all the slush!

Oribe Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil

My new must-have (for every season) is Oribe’s Gold Lust Nourishing Hair Oil. It’s prefect for taming frizz and flyaways, adding some much-needed moisture to your strands, and creating a healthy shine.

The light oil is infused with the Oribe Signature Complex of watermelon, lychee, and edelweiss flower  extracts which helps to strengthen and protect your hair from the elements, a special blend of emollients to soften strands, and Argan and Jasmine oils which enhance shine and reduce frizz. Plus, sandalwood, amur cork tree bark, and barley extracts to pump up moisture and help to seal split ends, cassis seed oil to infuse strands with omega-6 and -3 acids, and shea butter to give a boost of Vitamin F which helps to protect hair from additional damage.

Philip Kingsley Exfoliating Scalp Mask & Scalp Toner

Cold weather can be a recipe for disaster on your scalp – kiss dry, itchy, flaky scalps goodbye with these two products from Philip Kingsley.

The Exfoliating Scalp Mask is perfect for removing dead skin cells and build-up on your scalp. It soothes itch and infuses your scalp with the moisture it craves! Just once a week apply the nozzle directly to the scalp in partings 1 inch apart (ideally you hair should be damp). Once your entire scalp has been covered, gently massage the product in (scalp massage is a must for healthy, happy follicles and promotes hair growth!). Leave on for 10-20 minutes and rinse well with warm water and shampoo and condition as usual!

The Scalp Toner is the final step after your shampoo & condition (side note: in the winter try not to wash your hair everyday if you can help it – over-shampooing can really dry out your hair). This toner stimulates circulation in your scalp and helps banish those pesky flakes. Apply to towel-dried hair the same way you’d apply the Exfoliating Mask and massage in and style as usual!
