As the first web-based magazine dedicated to spas, SpaFinder Lifestyle brings alive the world of spa in a way never before imagined. Here, travel, treatments, beauty, and well-being become a vibrant, interactive adventure for a savvy audience looking for the newest and the best in beauty products and spa experiences, while providing a compelling introduction for newcomers to the spa lifestyle.
Every month we'll send you an invitation to view the latest articles, and every weekday you'll find new topics contributed from our team of experts in our Blogs and Spa News sections.
And because we know that spa-going is global, we offer the articles in five languages (Spanish, French, German, Italian, and Japanese) on our sister SpaFinder websites around the world:
Melisse Gelula
is editor in chief of SpaFinder Lifestyle, and has ten years of practice living out of a suitcase. She was a travel editor at Fodor's and most recently the spa beauty editor of Luxury SpaFinder Magazine, where she created "Beauty & Brains: The Thinking Woman's Guide to Skin Care," the magazine's highly respected beauty section. She was the creative force behind its annual beauty issue, which became a must-read for consumers and the spa industry. As a spa travel and beauty expert, Melisse has been on the Travel Channel, E! News, Martha Stewart Living Radio, CNN.com, USAToday.com and quoted in the New York Times, the New York Post, New York Daily News, Health.com and more.
Sarah Day
is VP of SpaFinder's Global Publishing Group, overseeing SpaFinder Lifestyle as well as the company's worldwide spa directory, Global SpaFinder, the largest printed directory of its kind. Sarah has 25 years of publishing experience, having served as production director at Sail magazine and Time Out New York magazine and managing editor at Latina Magazine.
Thai Massage Suite at the Spa Pure Altitude, Le Mont Blanc Hotel, Megève, France
This photo won a reader's poll for our first-ever SpaFinder Lifestyle cover.
This spa in the French Alps is the latest from creative spa connoisseur Jocelyne Sibuet, whose flagship, Les Fermes de Marie, is one of the most impeccably crafted spas I've visited. Her design specialty-call it "alpine chic meets Ralph Lauren"-is repeated in her new spa's Thai massage room, where a wall is textured with sheep-wool pelts and the birch side tables mirror stacks of fireside kindling. And what you can't see is equally important-topnotch therapists that use Sibuet's own bespoke beauty range, made from high-altitude plants. Even at 300 euros for the entry-level room, Le Mont Blanc is on my list as a must-see spa in 2009.
