Aruba

Lying about 15 miles north of Venezuela, Aruba is blessed with an almost constant year-round temperature of 82°F (28°C), pleasant trade winds, and white sand beaches. Aruba is part of the Netherlands, a heritage that is on display in the pastel-colored Dutch colonial buildings in Oranjestad, the capital. The architecture, as well as the city's shopping and casinos, make it a frequent port of call for cruise ships. Aruba also draws world-class windsurfers and other sporting types, taking advantage of the abundant wind and beautiful water. Aruba's neighboring islands are Bonaire and Curacao, and the three are often referred to as the ABC Islands. Aruba lies outside the Caribbean's hurricane zone, so visitors can plan trips there with confidence all year.
