I just visited this spa on 6/14/08. When I walked in the spa was bright, clean and welcoming. The receptionist was very friendly, which sometimes lacks at spas.

My appointment was with Gloria, she did a great job on the extractions (blackheads and lots of them) once that was over she gave me a relaxing facial, not once during the treatment did I feel like she was "rushing". After I was done I felt relaxed and my face felt clean and rejuvenated.

I plan on going back for future facials, I also want to try the other services they provide.

And the price for the facial was right up my alley $85.00.

I totally recommend giving this spa a try. Everyone that I ran into at the spa seemed to have a smile on there face and a welcoming essence.

I scheduled a facial with Jill from Karma a few months back (I like to try a new spa every now and again) after reading the reviews below. I felt that she was “good,” but not “great.” I get a facial about every three months due to congestion on my nose and chin, so I was looking for someone to really work those areas, as well as the rest of my face. I didn’t feel that my face got the attention it needed during that visit.

When I got home I examined my skin and it just didn’t look like I had a “deep cleansing” and it didn't have that rejuvenated feel so I called the spa I normally go to and scheduled a facial (just a few short weeks after this visit).

As the post below mentions, she does not leave the room while you mask. In my case she gave me a leg and foot massage, which was nice, but I don’t mind being left alone to mask, it gives me time to relax and rejuvenate.

One last thing.. I’d like to say that Jill was VERY nice and courteous, she just wasn’t right for me.

I got a chocolate facial (received a coupon for $59, it would have been $89). I'm HIGHLY disappointed.

The esthetician seemed very nice, but she did not look over my skin using the magnifier NOR did she do any extractions (and I made sure to ask if they do extractions with these facials and was told yes). I am NOT new to getting facials by any means. Her massage technique lacked enthusiasm from me. I felt like she thought I might break!

She started the facial by going straight away putting something on my skin. Then went straight into the massaging, I didn't speak up cause I thought, maybe this is how they do their facials? Then she whispers to me that she's going to put on the mask? (never had anyone whisper that to me) and so I spoke up and asked about the extractions.. "Oh, well if you want me to look at your skin I can do so after I take off the mask, only thing is I'll have to use the big overhead light cause the light on the magnifier is broken?!"

My skin NEEDS extractions and for the first time in a long time it's NOT happy. I don't discourage anyone from trying this spa, This was not my first time here and I won't be going back. Just wanted to post my review.

I bought a groupon to try out a facial at this "spa". To my surprise it's located in a supermarket and the room in which the facial was given is located right outside the pedicure station, so most of the time I heard the clipping of toe nails. The women doing my facial (can't remember her name) did NOT seem to know what she was doing the massaging of the face was rough and fast, esp w/a scrub!! not the least bit relaxing. The products irritated my skin, the steam was NOT a moist steam it just felt Hot and uncomfortable, I asked for it to be turned down, but I was told it couldn't be and to try and "deal w/it". Oh and they charge $10. extra for extractions! and that has nothing to do w/the groupon.. When I left my face was dry and irritated, I got home and had to use COLD water to rinse off my face and it still was irritated. It took a few days for may face to feel "better" but it was all red and irritated but the harsh scrubbing action the hot steam and the products that were used. I personally would not recommend the place to any of my friends. I have been getting facials for over 8 yrs now and this is by far the worst I have ever received.

I had gone to this Spa/Salon with my mom and sister we were celebrating our b-days. When you walk in you are walking into to a Salon where it's very crowded, you have to wait in the salon before being called to go back to the spa area, which is in the back. There is a small waiting room there, but it’s quaint. Prior to our treatment we filled out paperwork and when I was done I was whisked away for my appointment. I didn’t have a chance to prepare myself to be relaxed. I received a massage and it was GREAT. It was done by a male (can’t remember his name), I also received a facial which was VERY nice. When the facial was done, they brought me my clothes so I could change. I felt very rushed to leave.

As for if I would go back I said yes, because there isn’t a “maybe” button.

Overall the treatments were great, the ambiance ok, and the relaxation factor not really that good at all.

My mother and I try to hit this spa once a year. We really like the ambiance in the waiting room it makes you feel relaxed. The staff also provides cold spring water, tea, sometimes either fresh fruit or muffins while you wait. The service desk can be hit or miss. As for the services themselves, so far I've never had a bad one! One thing they don't provide are showers so if you have a treatment that has a lot of massage oil or lotion you’re kind of stuck although they do give you a warm towel after your service to wipe down with. Other then the service desk I have one other so-so thing to say and that would be the location, parking is VERY hard to come by (they are located in Center City Philly), my mom and I have someone drop us off and pick us up.
