Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa, The
awesome! January 17, 2007
This I would say might be my first real spa experience. I live in the NC mountains and am very familiar with Grove Park Inn. It has been a wish to take a spa vacation here so we did it during the month of april. Room prices were very low. We spent one night and had the treatments the next day.
It is very expensive but hey why not indulge once in your life.
The whole experience was wonderful. The whole atmosphere of the spa and everything around it is great. Nice ladies lounge, warm fluffy robes, little nibbles to much on.
You can use the other spa facilities the whole time you are there, such as the indoor and outdoor pools, sauna, steam room etc.
First class!! Highly recommended.

spa experience....NOT January 17, 2007 | 62 of 119 people found this review helpful
Very disappointed in this spa. Furniture in the ladies lounge worn and stained. Treatment rooms were very clinical....no ambiance. No spa atmosphere to this place. Trash cans overflowing in the bathrooms with partial toilet paper rolls on floor. Not worth the money. I would not recommend this place. I have been to many other spas and this is on the bottom of my experiences. If we ever return to sanibel, I would probably check out day spas that are in the area.

OK experience January 1, 2008 | 5 of 12 people found this review helpful
Picked this spa...because they were the only one that had any availability (it was after Christmas). The staff was very nice. The spa is in a old house near downtown. So it really doesn't have a relaxing spa feel like you find at other spas. We got facials and pedicures and massages. The pedicures....were nice...but our feet were still left with cracked peeling heels. Our regular local salon does a better job scrubing our heels than they did at this spa.
It was an OK experience...but doubt will return.

very nice day spa in downtown area January 17, 2007 | 12 of 32 people found this review helpful
I live in the asheville area and love to visit spas when I can. I have been watching as this place was being built and went in to check out the "menu". Eevn though Grove Park is also here some can't afford to go there all the time. Decided over Christmas vacation to try them out. The staff was very accomodating. The interior very nice. My treatment was wonderful. The whole experience was great and I would or will definitely return. The ambiance to the waiting room was wonderful, with some munchies, fruit and drinks. The robes were wonderfully soft and a box of chocolate from Choc. Fetish was in your locker. I had a wonderful massage and left very relaxed. Would have liked to stay longer in the lounge but I had to leave to meet someone.
Will return...well worth the money.
When I first went in just after they opened they gave me a complete tour of the facility. It is not a very big place but still ample enough.
Good addition to downtown Asheville.
