I read about Diva Day Spa in an 2004 issue of Essence Magizine. Because of Essence's recommendation I booked services for seven of my friends including myself with Jackie several months ago for a spa party that would take place on May 4, 2007. (I live in another state so I had no ideal what the spa looked liked. I was trusting Essence's recommendations and things Jackie told me about her spa). I asked Jackie (owner) if she could accommodate a spa party for 8 people and if her spa had a relaxation room and if the spa was tranquil. She told me yes to all of my questions. When we arrive on May 4, 2007 I was shocked to find the spa Jackie portrayed was a "store front" with only one window air condition working in the back of the building. She set up rooms by separating them by bedroom sheets which were held together by paper clips. The spa had no relaxation room and there were only three chairs for us to sit in in addition it was 90 degrees in Ft. Lauderdale and about 95 degrees in this so called spa. Jackie charge us $24.00 per person for a chicken salad; however she only had enough food to feed four people. We all had to eat small portions in order for everyone to have some of the salad. She orginally told us back in February that we would each get a 15% discount. But when we paid for our services she told us that if we paid by credit card we would only get a 10% discount. This was after we had all had our services. I would not recommend this spa to anyone and I was very disappointed on the conditions of the spa and the prices she charged for a dump. The only reason why we stayed there was because I gave her a $600 deposit in February.
