Went to the Bliss spa to try it out for SpaFinder's spa week and was dissapointed! The atmosphere was as expected for a W chain hotel spa, though not as big as I expected for one. Front desk person was nice and courteous as well as my estethician. My problem was with my actual treatment. First of all she suggested a upper lip wax and promised no side effects or redness. I had explained to her that the next day was my cousin's wedding and therefore would be taking pics. She assured me there would be no problem and at that time offered me an "upgraded service" for about $30 more. She claimed that the other facial I had signed up for has a harsh chemical peel and didnt recommend it being the next day I had an event. I accepted trusting her expertise. Well, she tore my skin up with the wax and left my nose totally red and bruised along w about 10 other places on my face which did not hide even after globs of make up!!!! So much for expertise

Had an essential massage one evening at Coldwater Creek. Was impressed with the cleanliness of the facilty and the relaxing atmosphere in the waiting lounge. Even with the treatments itself. The footbath before is definately a nice touch. I must say though, that it did seem very understaffed and even a bit unprofessional. I was asked to pay for my massage (including gratuity) before my treatment. Never has happened to me before, and I am pretty much a spa guru. I asked if I can pay for the gratuity later, and the front desk person said no, even if it was cash and not going on my credit card. Weird. Also when I was done with the treatment, they showed me to the dressing room instead of the lounge! Never offered me water or tea or anything. I definately felt rushed! I always relax before and after my spa treatments!! If they improve on their customer service, this spa would be amazing! ;)

Visited the spa at four seasons for a massage recently and was VERY impressed with the spa facilities. Perfect relaxing ambiance in a huge facility. Have all the amenities needed in a spa from saunas to steam rooms, cold dips to hot tubs. Very clean as well. Therapist ok. The only dissapointment was the service. There was none! The front office clerk just opened the door for us and very, very quickly explanied were we could find robes/showers, etc. FROM THE DOOR!! She did not even bother to tour us. Nevertheless after a while, we figured everything out (hello, been to a million spas), but only can imagine it not being too pleasing for a spa newbie. Nobody ever came out to check on us, until our therapist came out to get us. Customer Service all in all was VERY dissapointing for it being a luxe property.

Visited the Hiatus spa on Spafinder deal days and was not dissapointed. Upon walking in the large curtain on back to the treatment areas, you can feel the tranquility. The waiting area can be a bit larger though, and the front staff can be a little more accomadating, but my actual facial was one of the best I have ever had!! Very personalized and unique to one's need. I was glowing ;)

Definately do recommend

Bad experience! Very unprofessional!! Do not do laser hair removal here!

Read on:

I started treatment on 01/04/07 for Laser Hair removal of my full face. The advertised special was that the first of the six treatments would be free. So forth i was given a record and signed the acknowledgements necessary. I then had a leave of absence from the country from march to june, and then continued my laser appts. from july-november regularly. When i got back, i called the salon to inform them of my situation and spoke to danielle, which she assured me that everything was still on tract and that it posed no problem to my treatments. I was told and given a reciept acknwoledging that i would only have to pay for 5 out of the six treatments based on the promotion, which was a total of $750.00. Any treatments, if still necessary, given after would be complementary. Well i was assured throughout the treatments that was the case until i made an appt for my last appt on 12/15/07. The spa contacted me shortly after my appt was made to inform me that my promotion was unvalidated since i missed 3 months of appts, and that i would have to pay for this session, which would be $150.00. I therefore said that was the first time they had told me that, but that i would handle the situation upon arrival. (My hair still continues to grow, even after i made 4 appts in a row. However, they reassured me it was ok, and that i was going to need the extra treatments.) When I arrived for my 12:30 appt on 12/15/07, I was greeted by the owner, Jeff Robinson, and was taken back to the spa. He then told me my contract was invalidated since i did not follow protocol of coming in every 4-6 weeks for a period of 3 months. I asked if i could see a copy of the protocol where it stated that, since "protocol" is a very broad word that was on the contract, and did not specify that action. He refused to do so. He then said that I would have to pay for another session, even if my reciept said i had finished paying for all my sessions. I opposed to do so, and he unprofessionally said "he wasn't dealing with me" and escorted me out of the spa. I now have been left with uncompleted hair remonal, and with a void 2-year warranty they offered, for something that was not even in the contract and for false advertising. I believe that is a rip-off, and if that were the case of me not following protocol, that should of been explained to me when i returned from my leave, for i would have stopped going there and looked elsewhere. I tried to contact the owner that afternoon again, for i desperately need my treatments, and he refused to return my calls.

Visited the Spa with a girlfriend and was impressed with the service the staff gives you. They were all very attentive and made sure your every need was met. The facilities were nice and spacious, just need some minor maintence (whirlpool ceiling). My biggest dissapointment was my actual massage. I had a hotter than texas hot stone massage. I have had quite a few of these type of massages, the therapist sooooooo did not know what he was doing!! He kept on rubbing the stones in the same direction, same areas for the ENTIRE treatment. Please get more knowledgable therapist and ya'll will be perfect!

Salon & Spa at Saks Fifth Avenue, The

Mediocre!!! March 3, 2008

Salon & Spa at Saks Fifth Avenue, The
Overall rating based on: 1 of 2 (50 %) Customers would visit this business again

I recently visited this spa for a swedish massage and was a bit dissapointed for it being a saks fifth avenue partnership. The therapist was good, but i had never had a massage with the full blown lights (not relaxing at all!!) The spa is very small and you can hear everybody talking loud and laughing during your session (where's the serenity?!).

For the price you pay, you are better off going elsewhere!
