Bagni di Pisa Palace & Spa

Been to a lot of spas. Special here is the great newly decorated rooms. This is an old estate converted to a spa hotel. Thermal mineral waters, new spa added, great dining room and really in a cute town just about 15 mintues from Piza. This is a place to spend a few days at and really enjoy a piece of Italy. The bar is to write home about for decor. Bartender knows his stuff and is fun to talk to.

Glamour Spa February 22, 2006 | 482 of 960 people found this review helpful
Brenners Park is elegant. Wonderful tea/bar room right on the park. Exercise equipment is not really up to snuff for Americans but most Europeans do not do the fitness stuff as much. Remember the saunas and wet rooms can be coed at times....just know in advance this is the German way. Coed means nude both sexes. There is also a wonderful spa close for a day visit that the front desk can tell you about...great for a day visit and a must in Baden Baden. Rooms wonderful, dining room elegant, location scenic. Place speaks of royalty. Baden Baden itself is a little like a mini Beverly Hills so know you are in the hot spot.

This destination spa covers the basis pretty well. Nice rooms, beach, great food and treatments. Had a Thai massage and it was really special. Fitness workout room is nice with good equipment. The dining is pretty top spa and you get 3 meals a day in their packages.

Nice locker rooms, wet areas, lounge area and treatment rooms. Staff is pretty good. Probably the top facility for day spas in NY. Bring your Platinum AMEX

A Great High End Spa Experience July 29, 2011 | 77 of 152 people found this review helpful
Most spas in NYC do not have showers for men, least good one. This one does. The staff was on top of making sure everything taken care of. Treatment was very good. This is a well-run company with many other spas and they operate at the high-end of the food chain.

Italian Spa at its finest February 21, 2006 | 389 of 846 people found this review helpful
This is it, this is the place to relax, hike, spa, read, fine dining and wonderful rooms. The spa is like no other I have seen. It is all new with many treatments including Ayurvedic, western and great water treatments. Property is a historic Meduci family estate and is completely renovated. Plan on spending money here but you will not find many mineral water properties at this high of a level.....and with a spa that actually over delivers.

The Winner in Spas February 21, 2006 | 231 of 480 people found this review helpful
Golden Door has been around for many years. Every spa today trys to copy their formula. Most fall short. I went for men's week more than once. They only have 40 or so guests each week..you stay a week and you make great friends. The fitness program makes you feel like Rocky when you leave along with great great spa food. If you have the dollars for spa and fitness programs you need to go to the Golden Door...the tops.

Hiking Spa February 24, 2006 | 99 of 206 people found this review helpful
I have been to this spa several times so I know it fairly well. What is the best part of this spa boils down to two things...the scenic area/hiking and the nice rooms/pool area. Service varies according to the day you catch a staff member on. Spa itself is a little dated but still works. Fitness room very good, large with lots of top line equipment. They have an indoor golf school downstairs...large area but seems wasted space. Never saw golfers there but bet some do come here for golf. Dining is pretty good, all meals served to you at a table and you can have community dining so you can meet other guests. The hiking here is the best in the world so you go here for the hiking and outdoors. I went repelling one day off a cliff along with other guests and one lady was about 70 years old...and did it. That was fun. The facility seems like it was a mixed use one years ago and there is some kind of residentual community attached to it but they do not interfer with the spa guests....just know it seems a little funky. I have been here enough times that now I personally am looking for other places to go in the world so that is why I said I would not return....nothing against the spa.

Big property with golf course. New spa is just great. Nice fitness facility and fitness classes. Spa locker rooms and treatments are very good. This is a big resort hotel so just know that is what you are going to visit. Good dining, lots of people but it is the Palm Springs area.

Texas Best February 22, 2006 | 1 of 1 people found this review helpful
I find it tough to not give them high marks everywhere. Lots of remodel here, especially the spa and that is over the top. You will not find a better facility anywhere....period. Rooms are pretty decent for a destination spa as well as the dining area. They have really focused on the spa component and it shows. Spa food good is pretty good for spa cuisine and I think their chef has a few awards or is known for his specialities. I had no internet access in my room so that would be one thing I think to improve on. You are on a lake so great place to sun, swim and water activities in the right season.

Room with a View February 22, 2006
Hilltop overlooking Lake Geneva. You will not find better views anywhere in the world. Just fabulous. Dining is 5 star. Little champagn bar is just romantic or great for relaxing. The piano player is Italian and has some great songs ready to unleash, also very nice. The spa has a workout room with views again to die for. Locker rooms have wonderful wet areas and this place is set up like a spa should be. You are up on a hill about 15 minutes from town so plan on enjoying the setting. There is a little inn next door that serves wonderful Racellete for those wintery days. Rooms are very nice and they even have a suite that is like an apartment....in fact better and with views. If you are looking for something special in the way of get-a-way I like this place and will do everyting I can to stay there again. Downside again is the remote aspect but well worth the stay.

MOST AWESOME February 23, 2006 | 88 of 198 people found this review helpful
This is the most unbelievable property I have ever been to. They have 2 huge spa areas, one Ayurvedic spa on the property that is I think on 15 acres...they have a western or European type spa also that is just huge with all kinds of treatment rooms. They are really over the top here. The rooms are stand alone villas although they do have a hotel portion to the complex. Thai food is served in a special resturaunt along with other fine dining areas. What is most special about this spa resort is the fact that you are on rice pattys with water buffalo and locals harvesting rice. The architucture of this spa is just unbelievable as it is truly awesome...simple words...eye candy. I have talked to others who have been to this spa resort and just think it the most fantastic spa they have ever seen...I agree. If you are ever looking for an over the top experience...this is the place

When you rate this hotel and spa you have to think--5 star! Upon arrival you are taken to your room to check in. So very high-end. From that point on it seems every employee knows your name and greats you. Spa is just beautiful with great water and wet rooms. Fancy showers also. Treatment rooms have views of the city. The materials used in the hotel and spa are just fabulous and give the feeling of earthy elegance. When in Tokyo this very well may be the best property to stay at....business or pleasure.

Best Golf and Spa --beach? February 22, 2006
Great golf course and spa. Beach is not the best for Hawaii. Rooms, food and other activities pretty first rate. Tough to beat Hawaii for anything relating to weather, beach, golf and spa. I like to play golf while I spa so this is a good bet.

Luxury and top notch February 25, 2006 | 224 of 451 people found this review helpful
This special property is really that...special. I have toured the new spa which will be a destination spa during the week and open to nightly stays on the week-ends. I have only used the old spa in the main building but can see the new one opening sometime in early 2006 is something special. The owners do everything first rate. The dining is 5 star and the setting wonderful. You will thank yourself for going to the Mayflower. Hint, stay in the main building or new spa area if you can.

If you know spas then you know that this is a special place. No matter new owners or thought processes, the base is there. The setting, the programs, rooms, spa, they all work. When you start to compare you need to put this spa as one of the top.

This spa is rustic and has a lot to offer for those in the know for destination spas. Great treatments...perhaps the best spa cuisine with organic foods that you can find anywhere. Rooms are ok but you know what...you do not pay $500 a night. Much less and you get 3 wonderful meals a day and spa fitness classes. The yoga here is just great. Staff is friendly and they have been around a bit to know just how to do it right. Hiking is really nice and on property and you can just go off on your own anytime. Great week-end or 4 day get away. If you can afford a week...go for it.
