Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spa

My appointment was at 9:30am; I arrived at 9:00am checked in and sat in the relaxation room. At 9:30am, no one came. I patiently waited until 9:45am and asked the lady who work in the dressing room what’s going on. Apparently, the girl who checked me in didn’t mark me in the computer and she happens to be the manager, no apology at all from her.
I did cream and sugar scrub/massage last about 45 minutes, facial for 30 minutes, lunch was not that great but eatable, pedicure and manicure met my expectation($112.00 plus tax and tips better be good right?), haircut and blow dry for about 20 minutes, and makeup for about 10 minutes. The whole package was close to $800.00.
I figure, Elizabeth Arden on 5th AVE in Manhattan, it had to be one of the best. The pipe was exposed from the ceiling with a lot of dust bunny, as well as the vent on the central ac. Wall has a few cracks and paint chips were on the floor here and there. The place was not as upscale as I thought it would be. Even know tips was pay in advance already (you like the service or not, they charge 20% service charge in advance), they still kind of waiting for you to tip them more. Scrub/massage was okay, I had better. Facial was average, she is kind of in the hurry. Pedicure and manicure was exactly what I expect from Elizabeth Arden. Hair and blow dry was okay, I cannot really say too much about it as my hair style is very easy any monkey can do it. Make up, I had better, I also had a lot of bad experiences from other places, at least I didn’t take it off. The package suppose to come with a rope as gift, never mention anything when I left about the rope, and I totally forgot about it as I was so anxious to leave the place. The “whole” day spa is not worth $800.00 period!
