I just spend a very relaxing 90 minutes at this spa. The staff members were very pleasant and skilled. The surroundings were tranquil and the services provided were excellent. While the prices on individual services seem a bit high, the packages are an exceptional value.

It is very important to me that my overall experience be relaxing. One obnoxious or harried staff member can negate much of the effect of the spa. Beauty Jewel gives that tranquil environment. I was blissed out for the rest of the day! The only reason it doesn't get 5 stars is that the waiting room and changing rooms are small. There is no place to relax before or after the services.

The website pics look a lot nicer than the actual place - it is small and dark. The steamroom is hardly steamy. And the admin staff is terrible. We waited for our treatments and were told there was a 15 min. delay - then it would be 30 min. Then, mine started but my daughter had to wait a bit more.... and more... After waiting 70 min., we left. Each "apologetic" staffer had a different explanation. A customer in the locker room had her service delayed for 60 minutes and got an even different story.

On the bright side, it was clean, the russian spa was very, very hot and the plautza treatment was interesting. But I would never go back there.

I've gotten a lot of massages in my time, and this was one of the best. Ask for Jeff - you will not be sorry. He started out by asking what I wanted and didn't want - and gave me exactly what I asked for. I was so relaxed that he was able to go harder on my pressure points to release more tension without causing pain. My muscles are still tingling pleasantly. The salt scrub was thorough without being too rough. The facial was fine, they push their products a bit much, but I guess they all do. The prices for the products were not as high as I expected, so we did buy a bit. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff is pleasant and helpful, the robes, shoes etc.. are good quality. Too bad there's no steam room or jacuzzi but even so I will definitely be back.

Sothys is modelled on a European, actually, French skin care treatment. Meaning it is not New Age with Indian music and burning sage incense. It is all a matter of taste. My masseuse really knew what she was doing and was careful to tailor the massage to my needs. Everyone was quite friendly - not snooty the way staff can be in some European style places.

The packages are good values and are definitely the way to go.

My daughter and I booked a great package and received a scrub and massage together in a beautifully appointed treatment room. Very relaxing and very private - you could not hear anyone else while being massaged. The facilities are small but quite nice, with a sauna, steamroom and whirlpool included. There is a relaxing lounge with tea and fruit. You can also use the hotel facilities like the fitness room and the pool.

The negatives: not enough reclining chairs and the staff was adequate but not fantastic. The massage was pleasant but not incredible. The scrub was not hard enough. But we were both totally relaxed after spending 2 1/2 hours there.
