I saw the wonderful ratings MSJ received here on SpaFinder and just had to try their services. I must say, I was a little disappointed.
I booked an appointment for the 80 minute facial which included and additional hand, foot and scalp massage. When I came in I was offered water or tea, I opted for the water. I expected a small bottle, but was I was given was a plastic goblet of what tasted like tap water. It may be possible that the taste was attributed to the goblet, it smelled rather old.
The young lady who provided my facial was nice enough, if not a little timid. The additional hand and foot massage were nice, but the scalp massage was very disappointing. It was five minutes of her rubbing circles in the same places on either side of my head without the use of any sort of oil or massage cream. I understand some places don't use anything for scalp at the risk of messing up the client's hair, but the end result was irritated scalp and ratted hair. Thank goodness I wore a hat!
In addition I don't believe I received a facial massage at all, which is highly unusual.
In the end, I'm just not impressed. I've been to other small spas and have received outstanding services and have left feeling refreshed and revitalized. I'm sad to say I left My Spa Journeys feeling a little let down.
I would visit this business again? No
