Healing Wizdom Spa and Salon
Great place for modern men!!!

If you are looking for something more than the common, indeed you will find it here: I encourage the men in Reno to be brave, try something different, and give Healing Wizdom a call!
I, a modern city man, first came to Healing Wizdom on the recommendation of a friend who raved about her regular 'absolutely wonderful' massages with Jamie (if you get regular spa services here they offer an array of options for discounts). From the friendly reception in this 'enchanted forest' to the warm bed, hot towels, hot rocks and essential oil massage all, for a lower price than many standard 50 min (called 1 hour) massages offered at many of the larger spas I have been to, I was immediately a fan of this place. Jamie was not afraid to get into some of those 'hurt so good' spots which she had a knack for finding, and she did not charge an extra price for the depth where needed. Her personality was very positive and engaging and yet while giving me the massage she was quiet and allowed me the peace and rest I was looking for (all of Healing Wizdom's therapists are trained to be quiet in the room, unless of course you wish some conversation, they book out an extra 15 min to your hour to have the time to communicate with you). When I asked of her techniques she raved about the owner Tamara and the training she had received since she had joined the 'Healing Wizdom family.' She said that Tamara was a master and her personal training really helped her develop her own style and pull together what all of her 700 hour schooling had given her, plus Tamara had some great information on new techniques, how to integrate body, mind and spirit, and clear out all the old energies that the massage moved. So then I got special permission to receive a facial with Tamara (who doesn't discount), in which I understood how different and powerful her healing techniques are. Her facial is very complete and she is not afraid to work the muscles of the face to achieve tone and lift. She even does a brain balancing and chakra balancing and clearing in the facial which was new to me! I left the spa that day with not only immaculately clean and glowing skin but a true sense of relaxation and balance that stayed with me for several days.
I was impressed with Tamara's work ( never-mind her quite attractive appearance) and learned that she did hair as well in her salon Creative Colours. I signed up for a hair cut and indeed it was well worth the little extra that I paid from my last place (she is $30 for a men's hair cut). From the really good shampoo massage to the simple shoulder massage at the end I felt as if I had indeed had a spa visit, vs, just a hair cut. As for the cut: great, quick, professional and clean. Tamara now is my regular hair dresser for the past year or so and she has worked with me in growing out my boring and severe long time 'short cut' to a more balanced and flattering slightly longer cut which has definitely received a great degree of compliments, particularly from the ladies.
Just what the modern city man is looking for: good quality service, fair prices and some feminine wisdom in helping me feel good about my body, mind and spirit. Thanks Healing Wizdom and Creative Colours for being an unusual find here in Reno, NV.
