The fragrance of eucalyptus permeates the air as you enter the spa and immediately sets you at ease. The lobby area of the spa has teas and fruits to nourish while you relax and wait for your therapist to escort you. Ceiling to floor glass fronts the reception area and leads you to the open-air relaxation area. Plush towels line the chaise lounges where you can read, meditate, or nap. The 3-story waterfall cascades over the edge of the hotel in front of you, next to the cold-water plunge pool. Six jetted tubs are outdoors where you can overlook the ocean and crashing surf.

Fully equipped and segregated men's and ladies' changing area provide lockers, fluffy robes and slippers, a full range of upscale toiletries, sauna and showers.

Another relaxation area is outside the changing rooms with an assortment of fine teas and energizing waters.

On my last visit, I opted for the Mexica (sic) Herbal Bath as a prelude to my hot stone massage. The Mexica herbal bath is actually a series of 3 sequential 20-minute immersions in the jetted tubs outdoors which have been prepared with special indigenous herbs and flowers (you can also buy some of their products to take home; I always buy their salts so when I use them at home, I'm transported back to Marquis Los Cabos). Just divine! The idea is to harmonize your body and spirit so that you can more fully receive the therapeutic benefits of your body treatment or massage. It works.

The hot stone massage was one of the best I have ever experienced. The smooth stones warmed my muscles and facilitated the therapist's kneading into my knotted tissues. As a travel agent who is on the phone and computer all day, I find that my neck and shoulders are frequently tensed and knotted. I recommend this kind of therapy for all my clients who also have desk jobs where shoulders and arms are used all day for phone and computer work. You don't realize how knotted those muscles can get until they have been de-knotted!

Marquis Los Cabos spa has a full range of body treatments and massages, from the familiar sports massage to the more exotic Quetzalcoatl Oxygenating Experience. If you're with your sweetie, they also have delicious couples' treatments with private jetted tub for two, strewn with flowers and herbs. Very romantic.

Use of the saunas and the outdoor jetted tubs and relaxation area is complimentary for the day if you've booked a spa treatment. Otherwise, use of those amenities is modest fee and well worth it to have your own private oasis for the day.

The spa at Marquis Los Cabos befits a Leading Hotel of the World. I recommend this to couples looking for romance, gals seeking a fun and intimate getaway, and busy professionals who need to recharge and revitalize to stay on top of their game.
