If I can just get over the disappointment that we didn't get a special deal, this Aveda salonspa met our expectations. So, let me explain . . . I signed up my husband for a haircut because I knew he would love the neck and shoulder massage, hot towel and detailed haircut - and there was a special $50 deal for an "up to" $90 value. Well, at the end we asked what the regular price would have been. They said the hair stylist would normally charge $50 for what my husband got. Okay, so no special deal.

My husband said he really enjoyed the nice treatment and loves the haircut. He would definitely return.

We also each got 15-minute chair massages from Jay. Jay did a good job. The chair perhaps could have been in a different location instead of the waiting area where people frequently walk by and talk. Not so relaxing. So probably wouldn't do this again.

Took advantage of Spa Week and booked two appointments, one for me and one for my husband. My massage with Margaret was fabulous. Her many years of experience came through especially when she worked on my sciatic pain. The massage was relaxing and just what I needed.

So why only 3 stars? Well, my husband's experience was not so good. He had a different masseuse who didn't realize that the massage was suppose to be an hour long. They started ten minutes late (he was on time) and then stopped ten minutes early, which meant he was shorted 20 minutes! (My husband didn't know what to expect and didn't complain because I had booked the appointment as a special treat for him. He even gave a tip, which he now regrets.) My husband said the massage was rushed and not relaxing at all.

I called the masseuse afterwards and she offered to give my husband another massage at the Spa Week price. (They were extending Spa Week for everyone.) We paid for something that we didn't get. Why would we want to pay for another massage that wasn't very good, that caused us to be stressed? We are not going back.

Only 2 stars for the atmosphere because this is really a no frills place. To say that it's a spa is an exaggeration.

While my husband spends time with his parents in Scottsdale, I spend a whole day at Sanctuary. I start early in the morning at the fitness studio, take a yoga or pilates class, have lunch, sit by the pool and then get ready for afternoon pampering.

The massages and facials are wonderfully relaxing and therapeutic. For facials they use Naturopathica products, which I now buy for daily use. Full body massages are great, but I especially like the foot reflexology massage. It's the best that I've ever had anywhere, and I've had many.

This is a real spa with nice amenities. You can spend all day there, just relaxing, eating fruit, drinking water, reading celebrity magazines, doing nothing - and that's what I do.

I was lucky enough to spend a whole day here during Spring Break. The place is gorgeous. Loved the waterfall hot tub. Massage was fabulous. Yoga class was good. Loved the little cookies and tea setup.

Spa lunch was okay, not great. Lunch was served outside in the garden area. Food sat for a while before server connected me with my order, so was lukewarm.

WS Signature Pedicure was disappointing - didn't like the feeling of a latex-gloved leg massage; pedicure was sloppy; definitely not worth the price. The waterfall shower was tempting, but way too hot.

I'm glad I got to spend the day here. But, would I come back? I'm thinking not. For what I paid, I expect to be able to rate everything five stars.
