Qua Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace, Las Vegas
Qua Spa - Not Up to Hype December 10, 2009 | 112 of 183 people found this review helpful
I had read several reviews about the Qua Spa Las Vegas and was looking forward to trying it. The idea of Roman baths and the photos looked great. My husband and I decided to go there on our recent visit. He chose the day pass and I booked a $99 massage special.
We entered the spa men and women separate. The spa's theme of water is everywhere. The rock decor is a bit cold and no natural light so I felt a bit claustrophobic. I was greeted by the staff and showed to my locker with robe inside. The locker room is a bit small for such a large spa. I did love the robe sauna where I could leave my robe to warm while I was using the baths.
One room has elevated baths that you see in the photos with the rain shower in the middle. A large bath is body temperature with the two smaller baths, one is very hot and the other a cold plunge. Heated stone seats provide a nice place to rest. The room is loud with the sound of the bubbling waters.
From there I went to the back area which has another round hot tub and the sauna, steam and arctic room. The arctic room is a cold room with foam that comes out to simulate snow. The sound of foam fan is a bit loud but overall enjoyed it.
The sauna and steam are like anywhere else. I was taken to the laconium room to wait for my therapist. It's a bit like a round, mosiac tomb. While there over the intercom, I heard something about a firm alarm test. Next thing the fire alarm goes off and the strobe fire alarm light starts flashing. I had to stand outside the room as I felt as if I was in a disco. The strobe light continued as I was lead to my treatment room. Finally, it was shut off but as a serious spa goer, I couldn't believe they couldn't test the alarm another time or give us a heads up.
The treatment rooms are simple and my massage was good. I would have liked the therapis to ask about what pressure I preferred. Afterwards was going to go back to the sauna and cold room but was told I couldn't go back there for the moment as the maintenance man was back there. By then, I needed to head out to meet my hubby for lunch.
Overall, my experience was average and probably will not go back again the next time we are in Vegas.
