My husband wanted to surprise me with a prenatal massage. He searched and found Body Bank on Spa Finder. He called and was told immediately that they had a wonderful prenatal massage and booked it the same day.

It was disappointing to find out that the spa had none of the special prenatal materials that I have since learned are important to have to administer a proper prenatal massage. Initially, I was told to lay on my back and then I was awkwardly propped up on two pillows, which was very uncomfortable.

The initial experience felt like I was being poked and prodded, which reminded me of a chiropractic session. I have had reflexology massages in the past and was not in the market for one in my pregnant state, which I conveyed to her. After one particular period of pain, I told her that I was not looking for that type of rub and she finally began a normal massage. After the massage I wasn't even offered a glass of water, which in my experience is common post massage practice. I have never left a spa so fast in my life!
