Grail Springs Wellness Retreat & Spa
A Fabulous Detox Spa March 25, 2010 | 234 of 403 people found this review helpful
Went to the Grail in October '09 to detox from extended Chemotherapy and had a most amazing time. It's more that just a spa, it's a full body and mind experience.
Do not expect to gorge yourself on typical hotel food. This is a ph balanced diet that is mostly vegetarian and organic. It was a way that I've never eaten before and have brought many of the recipes and food logic home to my family. We now eat better because of my time there. Chef Melissa was amazing and wonderful and just so easy to learn from. Loved her.
The rooms were amazing, the bathrooms all have soaker tubs. Very very luxurious, and I even bought a robe to take home with me because I loved them so much. The grounds were conducive to lots of hiking in the woods, horseback riding and swimming (if the weather had been warmer. We enjoyed the hot tub and sauna and had a chilly dip in the lake. As well there's the famous labyrinth, walk it when the mood strikes you and you may learn even more about yourself.
The spa treatments were abundant and lovely. I even tried the famous Mineral Wrap that guarantees you'll lose 10 in, I lost 19.5! I got so used to being pampered and scrubbed and lotioned and polished in my 5 day stay that I had a bit of a withdrawl when I got home.
I really cannot say enough good things. It was not just a spa, it was really an emotional journey for me. I can't wait to go back!
