Bliss Hollywood

Located at the W Hotel, the atmosphere at Bliss is less dark and new age than other spas I have been to, and more bright and lounge-y (as one might expect at the W).
The men's locker room and lounge area is on the small size and staff entered relatively frequently, making the space seem less oriented to pre- and post-treatment relaxation, and more like a decked-out locker room. That said, my "Blissage 75" massage with aromatherapy add-on was sufficiently relaxing, and my masseuse well trained.
But perhaps the most standout feature of Bliss is its ridiculously close proximity to the Hollywood/Vine Metro station: literally a 10 second walk from the station entrance to the spa entrance. Of course, the W also has a valet, but don't waste your time and money driving and take the Metro instead. (No better way to prepare for relaxation than by letting someone else drive you!)

Relax to the max July 31, 2010 | 85 of 187 people found this review helpful
Located on bustling Los Feliz Boulevard, Atwater Village's dtox Day Spa somehow still manages to be an amazingly serene escape. Their small and simple--yet professional--setup is enough to make newcomers comfortable, while not alienating the seasoned spa goer.
Both of my visits (one for a men's facial and one for a swedish massage) were quite relaxing and I plan on coming back for more. Fruit/veggie water, hot tea, and even brownie bites provide light snacks for when you're using the facilities before or after your treatment. If ever you were looking for a calm place to unwind with a massage and a good book, you've found it.
