I visited the spa recently with a bunch of girlfriends for a shower. The atmosphere was okay, but there was a lot of kind of tacky bits and pieces here and there which kind of ruined the idea of where I think they were trying to go with their decor. A lot of us were having pedicures, and they only had 3 stations, so they put out one of those anti-gravity camping chairs for a fourth station. And then the foot soaks were in large stainless salad bowls. What??? The tools were brought to my station in a wet paper towel and when I asked if they were just out of the sterilizer and if they were hot, the girl said "oh no, just in warm water." Yikes. I would have stopped her right there, but I didn't want to ruin the day for the bride so I just hoped for the best. It was a very mediocre pedicure, even by express pedicure standards. Three days later, and my toes are still really sore around the nail beds and red rimmed. I'm praying this isn't going to turn into a fungal infection.

Would I visit there again? Probably not. I'm a stickler for cleanliness and personally, I think that most places at least offer you a glass of water when you go in and have a bit better atmosphere.

Upon reading Jen F's review, I need to respond to some of her comments: I am very proud to have been operating Undine's Retreat for the last seven years at its current location. We have been voted the "Best Spa in Chilliwack" for the past five years. My team and I are all certified professionals and committed to provide the best experience possible for all our guests. We use stainless steel bowls & anti-gravity chairs when a group of more than three guests at a time receive pedicure services, since we only have three pedicure stations available. The aestheticians' implements are disinfected and sanitized between each guest's service! During the soaking phase of the feet, we serve either water, our signature tea or organic coffee. Since I do not know Jen F's full name, nor her friends', I am not able to check back for any reason why her pedicure was mediocre. As a business owner I need to know if a guest leaves not satisfied with a service in order to address her/his concerns immediately. I am inviting anyone to stop by, check us out and see for yourself.
