I had a manicure and pedicure at Bassett Spa from a woman I believe is the owner. This day spa is has nice, if plain, atmosphere, and it's super clean and well-kept. The aesthetician was a very nice woman, but - and this is where I have reservations - opinionated. She was the only one working during my mani/pedi, so there were a few interruptions so she could answer the phone or door... but the spa won't keep many magazines because, as she said, "they focus on the relaxation." I understand the sentiment, but the interruptions were certainly less than relaxing! Personally, I'm fine with some conversation, but I like to sit back and read or zone out during a spa treatment, and, and being alone, I felt like I needed to chit-chat and was self-conscious. Overall, I found it difficult to relax and enjoy because I had to talk, and the conversation was a bit uncomfortable... and I got bored. Yes, bored. I think that the aesthetician's non-nonsense personality and slow work would suit many people, but it wasn't for me. My nails were ok but not the best - no driers, so I ended up with some glitches, and one of my fingernails was poorly shaped. She used lots of oil and it was pretty messy! Finally, the massage chairs were uncomfortable.
