Massage was great and customized to my request which was perfect. Prices were very good and what brought me to the spa to try. New location is very nice with the themed rooms but never was at the prior location to compare.

Did not like the gratuity suggestions in my new appointment email. It notes minimum gratuity suggested is twenty per session/per therapist or thirty five percent of regularly priced services. This is way to high to begin with and then they note off of the regular prices. There are also sales so their regular price seems more like what they want you do base their gratuity on. I left a generous tip from my perspective, but not based on their math.

Dear Lisa, I'm sorry I did not see your comment sooner. I would have welcomed the opportunity to explain in person if you wondered about our tip policy. However, it is probably best you posted it here, I'm sure many other people would wonder the same but probably not ask. The purpose of our policy is to remind clients who think this is okay that they should consider the type of service they receive and be mindful of the care we put into all our service. We love what we do and it shows. We really would appreciate it if clients were aware that the prices we charge are steeply below the market value and that does not necessarily mean to base your gratuity calculations on that price scale. OUR MISSION is to make massage and spa treatments available to everyone without breaking the bank. Apparently some clients feel that means the gratuity should reflect the "sale or special" prices we offer. We simply would like to let everyone know that whether you are a seasoned or new 'spa-goer' your left over change of $5-$7 is not a reasonable tip for a bamboo massage valued at $100 per hour. What a client tips is entirely up to them. Just be mindful therapists depend on their tips to round out their salaries and it is a service oriented industry.
