Do not go to Hand and Stone on Locust Street.
I took my fiancé there for a massage for Valentine's Day and left
feeling less relaxed, more stressed and disgusted than when I went in.
First, I should say that I worked in a high end spa in a top hotel in
Center City for two years - so I understand what a massage should be
like. This was not it.
The person who did my service, Bill, was as unprofessional as can be.
From the moment I walked in, he was running his fingers through my
hair and telling me how "pretty" I am. He spent very little time
massage my back and leg muscles. Instead, he had me roll over onto my
back - without covering me or turning away so that he could see my
body, then he started stretching out my legs... like a personal
trainer would do. He lift my knee to my shoulder then stretched it
out to the side. I paid for a Swedish massage and Bill was using the
time for a free show. I have never felt so violated. He repeatedly
made noises and said, "Yeah, that's the spot." This was not a massage
it was a violation.
My fiancé had a great massage and he would have been back every month
to see his massage therapist, but, sadly, we will never return to this
location or any other franchise location of H+S.
I would visit this business again? No
